CSN and CSN&Y are among the best vocal harmony bands around. Southern Cross is an excellent example of their perfect harmony. If someone held a gun to my head, "Wooden Ships" would be my favorite. CSN&Y Neil Young is a huge part of the band making them more political for the times and controversial as well. Their hits can't be denied, "Ohio" "Teach Your Children" "Carry On" "Woodstock" "Chicago" To name a few. For those who don't know, Graham Nash used to be a member of "The Hollies" another fantastic Harmonizing band. Stephen Stills used to be in "Buffalo Springfield. More trivia, Jimmy Page guitarist of Led Zeppelin was a huge fan of Stephen Stills and Zeppelin III one side dedicated to all acoustic has Stephen Still's influence on the entire side. Stephen Stills is very well known for his acoustic guitar work with different open tunings.

"Southern Cross" was based on an earlier song called "Seven League Boots" by Rick and Michael Curtis. It's about Steven Stills taking a long boat trip to clear his head after his divorce. CSN's longest, most complex song is "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes." You'd probably enjoy it, since as an opera singer you're used to longer, multi-part pieces. Other groups and songs that have really good vocal harmonies: - The Beach Boys: "Help Me, Rhonda", "Wouldn't It Be Nice", "Good Vibrations", "Don't Worry Baby" - The Everly Brothers: "Bye Bye Love", "Wake up Little Susie", "All I Have to Do Is Dream", "Crying in the Rain" - The Doobie Brothers: "Jesus Is Just Alright", "Listen to the Music", "Black Water" Edit: I see that you've already reacted to "Carry on Wayward Son."

Hello, my dear Aaliyah po! Like you, I'm in love with the gorgeous harmonies of C, S and N. What a perfect blend!. They were an early example of what became known as supergroups as each member was a leader in a pervious major band. David Crosby from The Byrds, Stephen Stills from Buffalo Springfield, and Graham Nash from The Hollies. For my old band, and a few other musician friends, we loved singing songs from this group as it was so easy to work with and even create our own harmony lines. I hope you'll continue with C, S and N (and sometimes Y) as there's a treasure trove of great music from them that's well worth exploring. If you're interested, there's another band that specialised in beautiful harmonies - from Australia, Little River Band. I saw them live in 1978 and was floored at how perfect the vocals blended. Fantastic group! Ingat ka, po. Always, the best of luck with your own music career. I hope you fall in love with more music every day ♥

Thank you Aaliyah, you have made my day! What a great choice 🎶🎶 I have heard this song a thousand times and each time it touches something in me that remains mysteriously hidden at other times. David Crosby and Graham Nash both came from vocal harmonies bands, The Byrds and The Hollies respectively and Stephen Stills, well, Stephen in my mind is an absolute genius. He wrote most of their material and actually his lyrics have quite a deep meaning in general. I always enjoy your reactions because you can really hear the music!

Blue Water Sailing song with ramifications still being discovered. That southern island of the Marquises is the island of Fatu Hiva. Approximately 23 days form southern Mexico on a mono haul. You will arrive at the Bay of Virgins. Durning April and May the constellation Southern Cross will be symmetrical. Only place on the planet. A vector through the cross straight to the horizon will be true south. The ancient Polynesians used the Southern Cross to navigate to Rapa Nui. (Easter Island). Recent genome studies have shown that Polynesian DNA is present in Columbian and Mexican native Americans.
