i don't think he's forgivable still, or ever for what he has become or done. but it's really unfortunate knowing he only ever knew the life of a soldier growing up. shinra basically wants soldier to be killing machines and considering the jenova experiment they most definitely only saw seph as someone they could use. seph was really just an innocent kid who didn't know much of the world at all, what it means to love, go through grief, etc. and when his only friends left he must have felt even more alone, leading to a tragic and over dramatic spiral. it's crazy to think about the parallel with him and cloud. except cloud had friends who supported him till the end, and seph didn't. that's probably why both cloud and seph seem to love zack for his positive, opinionated and loyal nature.

Young Sephy looks like a hybrid of Riku and Yozora, obviously another silver-haired creation of Nomura and I'm loving it. Even in his young years, you can see in his eyes he's harboring something, like he's always suspected there's a dormant monster inside him that awakens with violence and wants to take over (Jenova instincts) I hope we can see more details of his past.
