The prosecutors in the Young Thug case have broken numerous rules of professional conduct and have repeatedly given the wrong legal advice to a witness in front of Judge Glanville, that we all need to be concerned about what’s going on in Georgia. The transcript and the testimony shows that these lawyers are either totally ignorant about the law or they are so used to ignoring it that they are actually indignant about being called out on their conduct. Both Love and Hilton not only need to be removed from this case but should be reported to the State Bar. Absolutely outrageous!
@silikon24 ай бұрын
Young Thug should be thrown out with prejudice. Absurd. The judge and prosecution should be charged with conspiracy to deny the defendants of their civil rights. It was. If they get any conviction it will never survive appeal.

How did these folks get to be in the DA office and sitting in the bench without understanding the law around exparte meetings and how to determine if a witness has representation. And in my opinion- the DAs took advantage of his attorney being out of town to fire the witness to testify. That’s why MS Bumpus was there to stand in and had paperwork to sever representation if the witness testified. The original lawyer seems like he had had interference from the DA’s office prior and left for his vacation with he and us clients interests covered- with an exit strategy if his client ignored his advice. And at 18 months into proceedings- he is a witness’s attorney (not a defendant’s)and due a vacation.
@dayniasykora72134 ай бұрын
My understanding is that Georgia law has a specific legal meaning/implication tied to the word “goaded” hence Kendrick’s attorney’s use of that particular word in the filing. Could be wrong on this but several Georgia barred lawyers have pointed out that the word choice was very carefully chosen.

I think he was officially taken off the case for how he handled the recusal but unofficially it was in part for the exparte. They don't actually want people to know he messed up even if he did. That exparte was not right. It was like 2 friends hanging out asking the judge for help. Not a neutral judge presiding over a case. No no no!

@nedacarroll1670 Glanville was removed for ruling on the motion to remove him. I believe that there were at least three ex parte communications. The one on the 7th, with just Love and Hylton. The one on the 10th, that also had Copeland and Bumpus. There almost certainly had to be one before the one on the 7th that resulted in the grant of use immunity to Copeland. The topic of the third meeting would have been appropriate for an ex parte communication, if kept short and documented. As it’s not documented the length is unknown.

When the DA claims that Melnick doesn't have Copeland's best interest at heart, I think she wanted him to counsel his client to cooperate. But since Copeland only has state-level immunity, and federal exposure (and the DA lied to him about that), cooperating might NOT be in his interests.

He fired his lawyer because is was pleading the 5th - it was a "noisy" withdrawal. The DA's forced him to testify by granting immunity but they granted immunity in conversation without the attorney being present. Then the DA's claimed he was NOT represented which doesn't make sense as the second ex parte meeting was with standing counsel.

Mr. Copeland doesn't seem to be the brightest. In the transcript, he's all over the place, contradicts himself, and will say anything to get out of a situation. How he became such an integral part of the case is astounding....

@@AliciaL98 Copeland's smarter than people give him credit for. After seeing him on The Lead Attorney's and on Bumpus' streams, he's very good at advocating for himself and understanding the law. On the stand, Copeland had to balance staying alive and staying out of jail for years on end. Him being all over the place is his plan to get his testimony thrown out :)

The new judge is just more of the same just with a better disposition and more control of the court room but she is cut from the same cloth. It’s very obvious that they have been doing things in a manner that is unethical and with a win at all cost mentality in Fulton county for a long time and that is why neither the judge who ruled on the recusal nor the new judge see a reason for this trial to be thrown out or anything wrong with the ex-parte meeting. Every reasonable person who has viewed the actions of the judge and prosecution can clearly see the injustice in what is occuring yet the state and the court continue to justify this nonsense!!! To watch these guys lives be played with by these unethical people in power is absolutely gut wrenching and what’s worse is there is nothing that can be done until appeal which will mean that those men have to serve years in prison first and the fact that they are so blasé about error and state “well if I’m wrong it can be overturned on appeal “ is such a flippant and arrogant stance and it’s infuriating!!! And the prosecutions behavior remains the same, the same dirty tactics are still being used even with the new judge. It’s so blatant it’s comical at this point. The justice system is a joke and these people in power should be in jail!
