He didn't get "tricked" he said he took the plea because he needed to get out of jail, and couldn't stand being in jail for the rest of the trial (the DA was so bad at presenting their case it could easily have gone on for another year). And wasn't willing to risk the small chance that the verdict goes the wrong way. The plea agreement wasn't even what the DA wanted. They wanted decades. The judge essentially agreed that the prosecution failed to prove most of their case, and gave him time served for the gun charge and drug charge.
@Clemsontiger2148719 күн бұрын
@@bsimms583 the options were: sit in jail a little longer until trial is over, most likely winning, possible mistrial… or, leave now leaving yourself being monitored for 15 years with the threat of going back for 20 year’s looming over you. Catch 22
@bsimms58319 күн бұрын
@Clemsontiger21487 you forgot the part where the "little longer" was anywhere from 6 months to another year or longer, if the motion for a mistral w/ prejudice was denied, with the chance that he gets a verdict that puts him in prison for life. OR, he gets a mistral, then there's another trial, that takes anywhere from a year and a half to 2 years w/ the same chance. I don't think it's impossible for him to get through probation w/o slipping up. He represented to the court that he didn't stay in contact w/ any of the active gang members (he shouldn't even want to remain in contact w/ them because the whole reason why he got wrapped up was because the actions of his friends), has to move from ATL (so shouldn't randomly come in contact w/ them), has to do drug tests (which will be frequent at first then will be very rare once he comes up clean for a few months), and has to be conscious of how he moves (which he should be doing even if he wasn't court mandated to). Once his PO sees that he's moving mature, they'll get more lenient. And afyoua certain amount of time w/ good behavior, they can request early termination (which they often do to get a case off their desk). Speaking candidly, I was on probation 10 years ago. I was ordered to do it for 2 years, but after 5 months (where I did 100 hrs of community service in less than 2 months), checked in w/ them often, and never came up hot on UAs, she reached out to the judge to request early termination. In his case, they might relax the terms or allow him to check in less.

How can you be credible and make money off of "gang" but now you're just revealing it's either a sham or you're really gang. He's rich so he will be ok, but he's just a dude named Jeffery. Thug is out of jail and that’s good for him and his family. But don’t get it twisted- once Woody admitted he lied and made the whole thing up the prosecution case against Thug was a wrap. They had no case and they knew it and the new (white woman) judge knew it. Thug’s lawyer was right they should have fought more to get him out scott free but it would have taken more time. But that trial had gone on longer than ANY trial like it before ever. His lawyer knew that and was betting on the embarrassment to get Thug off which would have happened eventually. But he wanted to get out of jail asap and took the plea deal that really was just a way for the prosecution to save face after wasting taxpayers time and money for years on nothing but Woody’s lies. That ATL D.A. Fannie and her staff and those first two judges are corrupt af.
