I got lucky and beat a drug trafficking charge while driving thru volusia county in Florida, i was only incarcerated for 10 months and there was a guy i roomed with briefly that was sentenced to life. Dude was playing around every day until he heard the sentence, he literally passed out. I've never been back to jail or prison.

You’re paying for connections. A lawyer that costs 100k to retain & charges $500 an hour is gonna know every judge/prosecutor/district attorney in his/her state damn near personally. A judge is much more likely to be lenient, kind, understanding, whatever you wanna call it, to a client with a lawyer they’ve sat down and had coffee with versus a public defender or a cheap ass lawyer they’ve never met. They’ll request the same things but the judge or prosecutor is much less likely to listen or care.

This is real shit. That’s how I had charges dropped after firing my old lawyer. Hired a boss attorney and I was out within a few weeks with charges reduced to a misdemeanor was able to bond out and the charge later dropped without me going back in to court
