Artists (or actually, let's say their label) usually organize remix contest because they are looking for an electro/dance version of their song, which can be played in clubs and will expand their audience. For that reason it will (most likely) always be 128-130 BPM electro tracks that are going to win these contests and not necessarily the most creative remixes, which is pretty sad. When was the last time you heard Chillstep in a club?
