I recently purchased a new RV that was pre-wired for the Furrion back up camera. My last RV had the Furrion back up camera included. I didn't want to spend that much so I went with Haloview. Honestly, It works just as well as the Furrion and install was pretty simple. I have had it on one trip and it worked flawlessly. It is a good replacement option. Less than the Furrion's camera cost.

I Bought the Haloview RD7 to replace a camera system from Furrion Vision S that had significant drop out issues. Installation was not a problem - powering the camera off the top rear marker light. Swapped out the old mounting brackets for the new ones and ran the transmission cable up to the front of my 26 foot long camper. Mounted the transmitter with liberal amounts of RTV/Silicon. Got the monitor hooked up in the cab, powered it up and turned on the marker lights. The camera and monitor paired automatically and provided me a terrific view of my back yard - as expected. Finally got to road test it this past weekend on a short camping trip - about 50 miles one way. Camera performed flawlessly the whole way - didn't notice a single drop out and had very little, if any flicker. Decent field of view as well. I can see cars within about 20 feet of my rear bumper and can pick up the entire lane of expressway on either side at about 40 feet back. I am VERY satisfied with the performance of this system so far. Big test will be next month with a 1000 mile trip coming up. Looking forward to it.

Well done! I had an old furrion. It worked flawlessly for 2 years before water got in the lens and everything got blurry. The color was pretty poor (greens were grey). It was so bad on trips it would freeze up and a car in front of me was still on the screen. This is dangerous. I found the Haloview system on Amazon for a great price and decided to take a chance. I didn’t expect much, especially given the price. Out of the box, I was impressed with the quality of the Haloview system. Installation is easy. The screws fit the furrion mounting bracket. The picture quality is great and the colors are amazing as well. I wish I knew how good it was before. It is far better than the Furrion systems that I've used.

I have a 26' Airstream and mounted the Haloview INSIDE the back window. I get power from one of the many 12 v. sources by the bed. It's never in the weather. The signal is great, even though it's in an aluminum cage. I didn't need the remote antenna, and I can see the camera even if I drive away hundreds of feet. The only downside of inside mounting is I had to disable the IR night lights since in total darkness, they come on and wash out the picture, like a flash picture in a mirror. Thankfully, Haloview has a video on how to stop the lights from working. Even a streetlight is plenty of light to see without the IR. I just added a second Haloview, the CA-109 under the main camera, but it points down at the rear bumper, for more careful backing. When you said the Furrion had a wider angle of viewing, the downside is objects start off smaller and zoom up in size as they pass. The Haloview is a more natural (120º view) thus I can't see as much down. Lastly, Haloview has outstanding customer support. When I wanted a second camera, they actually made a mockup so I could see it with a bracket not sold on their web site (5 stars)

Just installed my new Haloview system on our new RV. I spent lots of time looking at reviews similar to this one before choosing the Haloview. One additional benefit of the Haloview RD7 is the ability to connect up to 4 cameras to the monitor. I do not recall if this is an option with the Furrion. I purchased the system with the rear camera, two side marker cameras and, for good measure, I purchased an additional camera to mount to the front of our tow vehicle. The Haloview’s ability to view all four cameras on screen simultaneously is another big feature in my book. I didn’t do an install video but if anyone is interested, I can provide some footage of the installed product with some explanations. Great review video and very accurate with respect to the Haloview system for sure.

I am purchasing a Hitch 21 ft trailer. I will be picking it up in about a week and am shopping for the Back up/Observation System is the best. This video shows clearly the many ways you have found the Haloview to be superior to the Furrion. I, however, really do not want to run a wire over the top of my trailer. I am strongly considering the Halowiew M7109, this is there 7 inch wireless version of the Furrion Vision S 7 inch. The M7109 includes a special adaptor plate so that you can mount it right in the Furrion pre installed housing like the Vision S. The only install problems I anticipate is; that the antenna will end up on the left side of the housing leaving a hole in the housing that the Furrion antenna would go through, and the question of will the Haloview's chord plus adapter fit up in the housing. Another significant benefit to the Haloview is that it is half the price of the Furrion! I do find myself wondering, however, in a wireless to wireless match up, other than price, how much better the Halo view is over the Furrion? I would love and appreciate feedback on this. Happy Holidays!

We had never had a need for a camera such as these, but we just purchased a new 42 ft rig and now the need is there. Having said that, I have poured over and watched dozens of videos for both systems both for your videos and others. Yours is the first head-to-head video that I have seen. To be honest, I was hoping that furrion would be the winner simply due to ease of installation. I was leaning to Haloview but wasn't entirely sure till now. Thank you for the video and information. My mind is made up and it will be the Haloview for our rig. Keep up the outstanding and unbiased content. Now if Haloview would just send me a new RD7 system so I can review it. lol
@jerrytucker95073 жыл бұрын
Okay, here is the update on the Haloview RD7 that I installed on our rig. One word sums it up: AWESOME!! I can see behind me and a clear image down the sides. I usually use my mirrors to back up and it can be tough when backing up a 42 footer, but the cameras make it a lot easier. I have been on some very skinny roads these last two trips and the side views ensure that I am well within my lane, as we have a wide body RV which is a fat 100 inches wide. Honestly, I have never lost signal and the image is clear. The night vision works great when you have decent lighting. I would not take my money back for this system. Probably the best purchase I have made for the RV ( a TPMS is a must also). No one will be disappointed with the RD7. Penny for penny, the best on the market, hands down. Stay safe everyone and enjoy this one life you have. Make the most of it.
@michaelhendricks71172 жыл бұрын
Jerry Tucker, I am looking for a camera system. I have read some reviews that say that wireless systems can interfere with the TPMS which obviously has to be wireless. So I was thinking that I would need to do a wired camera system. Have you had any problems with the two wireless systems giving interface? Also, on the Haloview website I don't see a 3 or 4 camera system with side marker type cameras which I would prefer. The kits I see have all the cameras as backup type cameras. Can you direct me to a 4 camera system with two side marker type cameras ?
@jerrytucker95072 жыл бұрын
@@michaelhendricks7117 the RD7 that I bought and installed does not intefer with our TPMS system. Our rig came with the TST system already installed and I could not be happier. I also added the side view camera's with RD7 and neither system interferes with the other. One very happy guy. The large 7" screen does take some getting used to, but I am getting older and not having to squint to see the screen is actually a plus. I wish you safe travels and good luck.

Just a heads up. I have a three year old furrion system and it worked ok. Occasional signal loss on my 30 foot rv when hooked up to my 2012 avalanche. Now for the bad news, bought a new GM Silverado and tried to get that system to work. It wont. The signal goes in and out. Never constant. Then I read a bit and found out that the GM and Fords have a power system that wont give the amp in the camera enough power to send the signal to the monitor. So now I have to buy a new one and that’s why I’m here to look at the Haloview.

The RD7 arrived quickly and was well packaged. Installation is very simple. Image quality is good and stable, with no signal interruptions or delays on the highway. Product support or customer support is very prompt. The monitor developed some heat sensitivity 11 months after purchase and would shut down. Pressing the power button will bring it back to life. Send an email explaining the problem and receive an immediate response. After trading a few emails, a few days later, a new monitor awaits my arrival from my road trip. Trouble-free solution! ! Provide immediate remedy. What a great customer experience! Please read the instructions several times before installing. Pair the cameras for monitoring before installation and you're good to go. I'm not an electronics genius, quite the opposite. My problem is not the unit. I try to use the monitor as a touchscreen. Every time I peck at the screen and expect something to happen, I laugh at myself. I have nothing but good things to say about the product. I rarely give praise to products. I highly recommend products from Haloview.

I suspect Furion I'm some way subsidizes manufacturers to install their brackets hoping to recoup on increased sales. Of course, if you are not a DIYer and pay a dealer for install, the Furion will be the dealer choice. They probably get a good mark-up and it's quicker to install. So Furion is the clear winner in marketing 😢

I liked the review and was leaning towards the Furrion. I do like the price point A LOT and the features of the Haloview. However, two things with the Haloview that gives me pause. 1. The Haloview is not truly 'wireless' if I have to run a wire(s) closer to the tow vehicle. In the review, you kind of just skipped over that at the end of the video. I bought my toyhauler from a private sale. the rv already has a mount bracket like the Haloview but his wireless camera integrated with his truck so he kept the camera. So what I have is a 12V always hot with a ground. That is the main reason the Furrion was appealing. 2. It looks like the monitor mounting requires screwing the mounting bracket. I do like that the Furrion has a suction cup and can be unmounted so that if I wanted to, I could bring he monitor in the rv with me. (kind of like a security cam at that point) Does the Haloview have a suction/temp mounting option?
@ryanm60193 жыл бұрын
Haloview is far better than the Furrion systems that I've seen. I bought the Haloview with rear and two side view cameras RD7MAX. I'm totally satisfied after season. Haloview recommend MC7108 if your vehicle is less than 33FT, just like Furrion the system is completely wireless. My fleet exceeds this distance, the signal of RD7 is much more stable than my previous Furrion, you can also use Haloview 's suction cup, for me I didn't have enough room behind the mirror to do this.
@LoudRam3 жыл бұрын
The Haloview does have a suction cup for windshield mounting. You buy it separately. I have a 29' travel trailer and the antenna on the camera maintains a signal lock with the monitor without the additional antenna and cable but they included the extra antenna and cable anyway. I've had my Haloview camera since the beginning of this season and I love it.

It has a backup camera built in to the Mercedes dashboard. It works great. I do not want to "mess with it" What I want is a totally separate REAR VIEW MIRROR/CAMERA that in no way is connected or wired to/thru the Mercedes backup camera. Hopefully, the monitor for this independent camera/mirror could be mounted in the place where a "normal" rear view mirror" would be and the camera could be mounted on the back of my RV like the backup camera is. If it could be wireless, that would be great. If not, please recommend how and where I could get it installed. I will be very interested in your information on this. Thanks JosieNurse

The latency on this system is so bad that is completely unusable while I'm driving even out in the middle of nowhere where there's no other Wireless signals around. When it looks like a vehicle is still behind my camper it is actually alongside the camper or sometimes even almost alongside the truck. Then there's the image quality which is not great either, especially if I try to have all three views up at the same time on that 7in screen.

If Furrion or Haloview want to impress me they should have a voice command that can go from camera to camera for less distractive driving. It would be nice to switch from the passenger side camera to rear camera with voice commands rather than have to look at the menu and have to click on the option switches on the monitor. I know there is split screen viewing but to switch full screen shot to another full screen shot would be ideal using your voice to do so.

I notice you don't have the antenna deployed on the Furrion display, and you also have the antenna tilted at an odd angle on the Furrion rear camera. Both of those things will severely affect the signal quality. RF polarization is very important at these frequencies.

Hey Younger Gang, thanks for the comparison. I've invested in the Haloview based on your initial install review and find it's a pretty solid rear-observation system. The only challenge we've had are freezes; usually happens 1-2 times per 2 hour trip (have made several of this distance recently). I don't believe it's a weak signal, rather a conflict with other items using the 2.4G bandwidth within my tow rig (cell phones, dashcam, perhaps the truck itself). Thoughts? I plan to research further, however, if you've had any other feedback on this issue I'd be interested. Thanks!

Why did you not metion the wire that runs all the way to the front? How did you royte it, mount it secire it? Seems like you forgot easy of installation in your comparison.

I was wondering the same thing. Does the transmitter mount on the roof of the trailer or do you have an ugly wire running down the front?

Why are the captions only provided in Korean 🤨

My system just seems to go in-and-out a lot I think I'm just a little bit too far is there any way to boost the signal

Is it an RD7 system? Need to check the antenna, whether it is in good condition.

I just bought my first 31 foot 5th wheel. Haloview seems like the brand to choose. I'm traveling ALONE and I was hoping to find something I could add about 5 cameras around my Truck and rig. Maybe it's over kill but in this case (driving alone) bigger is better:-) Your suggestions please. I just found your channel and have prescribed. You're a pretty nice guy:-) -keith

@keith norris I would go with one of Haloview’s four-camera systems as I haven’t seen any five-camera systems. It looks like they’re out of stock right now, though. Thanks for the kind words, and welcome to the Younger Gang!

@@YoungerEveryDay I contacted Haloview and ask when they would have them back in stock. I explained to the lady that I'm 78 and would be traveling alone so cameras would be very important to me. She emailed me back and showed great concern for my traveling alone without proper equipment and told me she would contact me the next day. Next day she told me they hold back some inventory at the factory for existing customers who might be having problems. She talked with her boss, who made an exception and rushed one out to me and gave $25.00 off for being so kind. I received it from Hong Kong by air in two days. Honestly man, I almost broke down in tears. I wrote her a lovely thank you and asked that she shared my thoughts with her boss. Goes to show, the real problem are the politicians not the citizens.- I love my life:-) -keith

Two years later… backup lines are now brighter and thicker, so there’s a little movement to narrow the gap. And….Furrion’s touch screen capability is more modern and exceeds the clunky button interface that Haloview still comes with.

To your 9 points, you also need to add whether the camera lcd panel is compatible with Polaroid sunglasses. There’s nothing worse than looking at an lcd screen and it’s blanked out caused you have Polaroids on.

Haloview has upgraded the new system of 1080P, better wireless distance and display picture.

I purchased the Furrion Vision S with 7" monitor and three cameras when I bought my RV in 2020. I am very disappointed. I have not had any "drop out" issue that I know of, but the picture on the monitor is so dark that I barely see what's going on behind me. I have the brightness turned up all the way and I still can't see with it. I DO NOT recommend the Furrion.

I recommend the Haloview RD series, the picture is not freezing and the image is crystal clear.

My Furrion observation camera sucks and has sucked since it was new. I have a 42 foot fifth wheel and the signal isn't strong enough. It drops off all the time and the picture isn't very good when it's working.

My halo view is junk . It worked great for 1 trip from Maine to Florida and haven’t been able to get it to work since. I also installed the side cameras so it was pricey. Too complicated for this senior citizen.

My number 1 criteria is where it is made. I have Furrion and after one year the monitor failed and no longer works. Furrion is made in China and for me this is a huge negative. Where is the Haloview made?

Had a Furrion. Worked for 14 months and camera became non-responsive. Furrion won't warranty past 12 months. Done with Furrion
