To those hating Ding or Gukesh chillll.. They earned the right. Ding won the last one. And Gukesh topped a tournament consisting HIkaru, Ian, Fabi. So, even if they played bad they earned the right. Maybe it wasn't at the level of previous championships. But surely earned the right to be their. Hard luck GM Liren and congrats GM Gukesh.

Wow, what a salty audience Hikaru has. It seems some people just can't handle the fact that an 18-year-old has become the World Chess Champion. Yes, Ding may not have been mentally strong in this tournament, but let's not forget that this "kid" won the Candidates Tournament fair and square-where your so-called idol, Hikaru, was also competing. And now, he's crowned World Champion. Show some respect and set your egos aside, so-called chess fans. By the way, for those in the USA-who's your World Chess Champion? Oh, right. You don't have one.

45:37 being an Indian I totally agree with what Hikaru said. This is the first generation of Indians that truly realize what was done to us for the past 300 years of colonisation and there is the sense of taking revenge, not with anyone in particular but to somehow prove to us that we can compete, we are made for the centre stage, our sense of pride that was snatched away from us, can be restored hence you see such insane support whenever an Indian succeeds anywhere.

Nah. The current(lockdown) generation, mainly from north India has fallen back in time. You can control their views and emotions by a single reel. They're so much into white worshipping. Nobody hated (our own people who present us at an international stage) for standing up to foreigners like the current generation ever before. They're so much into self loathing, have an inferiority complex and a fresh colonial mindset. I had so much expectations from these people that people would actually realise it by time and learn their value as they're more exposed to the internet and reality but damn I'm so disappointed. They spend most of their time perpetuating fake news on Instagram and watching soft corn.

ok i ll be honest. Gukesh is not the strongest player in the world "yet". He is very young and was probably a little too young for this. BUT, he defeated the best to get there, and that alone makes this win well deserved. Like this is a sport that works within certain rules, and by those rules, he IS a champion and that is not something to scoff at. Yes Magnus doesn't play WC anymore, but hey its not like you can just force someone to participate. Not to mention, Gukesh earned this right to challenge after overcoming giants like Caruana, Hikaru and Nepo, in a tournament. People who think "Oh even if it was Caruana instead of Gukesh, he would have won because Ding being champion made it easy for Gukesh", well yes but same caruana could not clear the tournament that Gukesh did. There is no argument here whatsoever. Not to mention, this boy is just 18. Throughout this champion ship, it wasn't his Skill that lacked but his experience. He has that young blood, the adrenaline, etc. With time he will grow into a monster that will do more than justice to this title. So if you do not like the rules, blame the one who made them not the one who won according to the rules.

I generally just don't understand the negativity surrounding this match. People need to calm down. For years people have been crying about Magnus relinquishing his title and about the world champion not being the strongest player. Yeah, it's disappointing but so what? You can't change it, Ding qualified, won the title and now Gukesh won it, that's all there's to it. I hope this win will motivate Gukesh even more to prove his strength, who knows where he will be in 2 or 3 years, maybe he will have surpassed Magnus by then. Could be a situation like the one Karpov was in in the 70s when people questioned his legitimacy after winning the title without a fight because Fischer was too scared to play him. Karpov went on an absolute rampage, crushing everybody and winning tournament after tournament to prove himself. It's also possible that Gukesh will immediately lose the title in the next match, who knows. I'm not a big Gukesh fan or anything but I'm excited that we have a new world champion and I can't wait to see how far he can go.
@apoorvjoshi2383
@apoorvjoshi2383 22 сағат бұрын
@hansmahr8627 the negativity can be summed up in what Gary said. That the world championship ended with magnus. If thr strongedt player isnt participating its not a world champion anymore. People take it too far. Ding has been critiqued for not being worthy of holding that crown considering his recent performances and people were critiquing Gukesh for not absolutely crushing Ding. It is bad either way u look at it. People are hating thr players for playing by the rules that were not set by them. Its almost like people want any world champion candidate to force magnus on a gun point to play and defeat him. Like if he doesnt want to play, he doesnt. Rest it. The other players wont just stop trying for the title waiting for him. The rules laid by Fide allow the non highest rated player to hold the title, so he did. Fide rules allows the non "second" highest rated player to challenge the champion IF they prove themselves worthy by winning the Candidates. And Gukesh did that. If anyone doesnt like this setup, bring jt up with FIDE and not the players.

I really am sure that Ding could have won, I rooted for him I really loved the guy as I analyzed his games and checked them out. And so a tiny portion of his story on the 2023 world championship, as many people saw him as "the worst world champion" or the weakest. In my all honesty, I think Ding was probably one of the closest people to Magnus Carlsen's level, he literally had really well calculation output, well positional play, just overall powerful performance on opening, middle game and end game. He was once for a period even second in the world, and had a peak of 2816. He was so strong, but he crumbled due to his mental health. I hope to see him compete in the world championship and win it again as he deserves it. But now at least he has gotten the weights off his shoulder as one said. He can finally rest now, and take a break. He delt with the first world championship, he kept blundering, he was struggling, but barley made it out. Due to his mental health he was unable to perform well, nor was he even having any fun of it. Losing, but anyway. Hope he does fine, I declare him as the only closest one to Magnus Carlsen's level. Even though if chess is considered no where close to complete at all. And whoever says "this is no where close to world championship level". This world championship has a game that has the highest accuracy compared to any other.

No one else is treated that way. I mean, we understand that he's had ups and downs the last couple of years. But, for Pete's sakes, Gukesh is 18. What are you talking about, people have been criticising Ding throughout the whole match for not taking his chances, for his bad prep and for ruining his advantage in some games. And before the match people were talking shit about him all the time, questioning his legitimacy as a world champion. Ding faced plenty of scrutiny and many people weren't all that empathetic about his struggles. It's obvious that he went through a mental health crisis and that he still hasn't completely overcome it. Do you want people to bombard him with painful questions after he has just lost his title? I don't get where all this negativity comes from, it's insane.

If gukesh doesn't play best then how he able to draw each of the game and win, ding is not an ordinary player he is WCC. It's not easy to compete and maintain great accuracy, for me both ding and gukesh give there best game, therefore hikaru want to signify by saying "He didn't play best but he won the match" could be that ding is no more in his best shaped , therefore ding makes blunders and collapse in endgames ,even ding was taking lots of time to move and think. If ding was in his best shaped the results might be different or it could be result in similar points. No hate to hikaru just share my thoughts btw gg to Gukesh 🇮🇳 ❤
