The problem is that the screen is not with you at the moment of taking the order, so of course you coud forget something if you don't write it down. So, one solution would be writing the order quickly on your phone as the costumer says it, repeating it at the end as you normally do, and then go to the computer and confidently place the order without any mistakes. Other businesses have tablets or apps that are integrated to the system so they can place the order in front of the customer. Some others, let the customer place their orders themselves.

Thank you for showing us your work at Gray. You had so much to do: from taking orders to cleaning the toilet and doing the dishes. You definitely earned your money. I know when my husband did the dishes at the restaurant it was a hard job. More dishes came all the time and he was never caught up. Looks like it was the same for you. This was fun to watch because you had talked about working at Gray before, now we got to see it.
