I mean why overcomplicate it honestly 🤓 😂

Math isn't only about arithmetics. It's about creating logical and clear model of the world which we can then analyze to produce results. So actually, making calculations is only the final result of this process, which is the least important part of it all.

While that is true if you have time to set up a model, surprisingly a lot of C-Suite sizing conversations require quick estimation of size of opportunities and investments. Even following conversations requires very quick mental math (conversations such as - “15 million represents 12% of our sales pipeline and we are looking at growing it by 5 % more, how do you think the RoI of this new market entry strategy is going to play out in that context?” Etc. have to be done on the spot without the partner/ EM pulling out their smartphones, opening excels, etc.) but it could very well be a Big 4 vs MBB thing)

Loved this video. As a Big4 consultant myself (but new to the field), I resonate with everything you say, Kajol :D Arrogance is definitely overrated everywhere else, but definitely not in consulting- I have felt it several times in the past months for sure.
@KajolPhadnis3 жыл бұрын
Aww Niharika! People see through arrogance and never surround yourself with a team that is like that if you can!
@Anu98873 жыл бұрын
@@KajolPhadnis oops I think I gave you the wrong impression! I meant that I am a lateral hire and I have seen much more arrogance in the industry prior to my consulting career. People here are definitely down to earth and willing to tap on each other's strengths- which is basically the premise of consulting industry :D

Hi Kajol, I have just accepted my first consultant role and noticed how the arrogant people don't actually last in the big4
@KajolPhadnis2 жыл бұрын
Yeah would same some do and some don't. Honestly the people I work with are genuinely nice people lol and have no time for people who are arrogant etc

You promised a cover letter video! My bad, that is not what you said in your CV review video. You should still do a cover letter guide video I think.
@KajolPhadnis3 жыл бұрын
Haha I'll do a cover letter one soon :)

Do you some times feel burn out after working for so many hours? The feeling that you cannot do this anymore? Or do you think you can still keep that career pace for another 5 years just in the case when you decide to not become a mother.
@KajolPhadnis3 жыл бұрын
Hmmm, hard question. I don't feel burnout from consulting, only felt it when I started KZbin on the side with consulting. It's not always long hours and more normal than long days!! So 80% it's great and just need to make sure you spend time to recharge and do things that switch your mind off.
