You're goddamned right, man. I've been actively working through my social anxiety for almost 2 years and even with the occasional awkward AF moment, it's been the best decision I've made for myself (sans taking my Bipolar meds regularly and sobering up). I have friends in the real world now, not just online through my fandoms and the relationships I have with my mother and siblings have never been stronger. The way I pull it off is to have the mentality that doing a little is better than doing nothing. That applies to diet, exercise, and pretty much everything else that's important. Keep your hard lines and don't forget to assert your boundaries but put yourself out there. You'll be much happier. I promise. Humans need a community and connections.

I’ve been really down on myself lately over being an introvert. Job hunting triggers it.. All the introverted jobs tend to be heavy-lifting, male-dominated manual labor jobs. I’m a strong woman, but not strong enough to do construction 😅 I’ve been having a pity party lately feeling like there’s just no place for me in this economy.. This video really cheered me up though! I’m going to get out of my comfort zone and apply for more jobs that will challenge me socially.

I learned to leave mine years ago when me and my god sister who I was super close with (we were like this🤞🏾) had a big falling out. We were supposed to go to a party together and the night of the party I asked myself “am I gonna sit and and be depressed about it or am I gonna go have some fun?” I chose fun and it was the best decision I’ve ever made I had a BLAST made some new friends and learned that going out alone ain’t so scary. Since then I’ve been pushing myself out my comfort zone more and more and I’m not scared to go anywhere alone, hell I even prefer it cuz I always have fun, can go, leave and do what I want and somehow always make new friends. I know pushing yourself out your comfort zone is scary but I promise what’s on the other side isn’t and it’s completely worth it.

It brings me joy to know that I am not the sole individual experiencing this. Although I am somewhat of a socialized individual. Nevertheless, when it comes to conversing with a man whom I am attracted to, I feel apprehensive about stepping outside of my comfort zone and initiating a conversation, such as asking him out. As a 35-year-old adult, I continue to experience this issue, which has been present since my teenage years.😅

One thing i learnt somewhat recently was be urself around woman, it’s a cliche and i’d heard it loads but just think about it for a second please… if u start talking to this girl and u can tell she’d like u to be a certain way or do certain things then sure u can do those and probably get with her, but then she’s expecting those things of u consistently. So when u get really comfortable and u been going out a few months and u truly be urself u might not want to do those things or act a certain way and it’ll be a waste of time. I went on many dates just tryna make the girl like me when in reality i should’ve just been myself and if she didn’t like me then she’s not the one for me. Short term it’s harder and you’ll have less interactions and situationships but long term you’ll be much better off cus u won’t hesitate to be urself when u see that girl who really likes u for u

Best way to think of it is that their are 2 paths, the one when you obsess over someone for multiple months just to be let down and get depressed for a short 3 days that feel like a eternity, or you just shoot your shot after a few weeks so your not as devastated. For me, I was just happy I managed to do it after a few weeks, got regreted, but I LEAPED out of my comfort zone. Did something I never ever done again or thought I would ever.

Keep busy in the day whether that’s working, studying, planning for stuff, staying fit etc. Like the worst feeling is going to bed after doing nothing all day cus ur just sad

So for me sometimes I might just come up with one I’ve definitely asked a shawty for directions when I didn’t need them or asking someone about a place that I might be in when I’ve been there before it’s all in making the reason and not having to look for one
