Screw that I’m not using my own personal stuff for a company my job wanted me to always use my cell phone for business calls I finally told them look you either pay my bill or provide me with a cell phone I’m not going to keep using my own personal phone for business related stuff so they finally stop asking me. The best thing to do is don’t do anything your not supposed to do on their products it’s as simple as that. If you’re doing your job right you have nothing to fear but fear itself.

cover your webcam if you're in your birthday suit even if you're not on a conference call. And don't swear even if no one is there as they can hear you. It should be a breach of privacy in your own home though and an ethics issue if they don't tell you, there may be a lawsuit. Ask your IT buddy if they know about the bossware. I'm pretty sure we don't have it though since my company is pretty woke and wouldn't do that. Except we don't get Juneteenth off so maybe they do.

My coworker told me last month that he thought our company was "spying" on us...days later my supervisor called me asking about an account we were supposed to be doing work in soon. He made the mistake of telling me "Okay we'll go down that road when we get to it...go ahead and get back the podcast you were listening to.", and I was indeed listening to a podcast on the vehicle satellite radio while I was driving! 😬 My android work tablet is ALWAYS off unless I'm doing work on it! 😒

Use work laptop for work only. Put a tape over the camera if you're worried. As for eavesdropping, do not talk to anyone about personal matters while using work laptop. There, problem solved.

AT&T has been doing this for 15 yrs,also informed employee's that they have no right to privacy as a employee,on the clock or off the clock.after finding tracker on personal vehicle monitoring everywhere you go on your day off,they denied doing any of that.but their employees were always spotted.while I'm fishing a 100 miles from my home.or all the way to the family ranch in New mexico.1300 miles from my home.alot of wasted company money on foolishness. They got caught there,and threatened with arrest for trust passing.and never came up with what ever they were looking for.but I have all those peoples names involved pay back is fun.

Years ago office workers used this to their advantage, to justify being issued a company laptop and mobile phone. I didn't do this, but a lot of people would make completely BS phone calls and e-mails which were a massive waste of time and other resources simply to inflate their numbers, so it would seem like they were being super productive when in fact mostly they were just screwing around. And they're still doing it. This works for lazy managers because they can look at these numbers as work output rather than looking at how productive their managees actually are. They do not have the time or inclination to actually read those e-mails and check your browser history much less review the voice and camera data because that's too much work. They're looking for total screen time, phone time, number of e-mails sent and received. So employees who are pretty much just watching ESPN all day, putting in those extra hours shopping on Amazon and such, they look much better than the people who do actual work. One workplace, the expense accounts were key, so people would go out to lunch for a few hours, put it on the company card, call it "relationship building," get reimbursed, and it would look great on their annual reviews. Meanwhile, I was more of the 'don't have time for that' type because I was actually being productive, but that doesn't look good on a spreadsheet of productivity monitoring data.

Company laptop normally connects to corporate network over VPN and they won't allow personal computers for obvious reasons.

People are producing more working from home than in the office. Less distractions, less chit-chat. Time spent commuting can be spent on doing a little extra work. The corporate overlords need to be careful. Upsetting workers will negatively affect their profits.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 but I have my own personal computer. I do not use the work laptop 😒 for personal reasons 🙃 never. 🤣🤣🤣 put tape over that Webcam and go into the settings and turn things off. Close and put that laptop 💻 away when you're not using it. Power it down completely and remove the battery 🔋 💪 👌

My work computer had software that allowed my boss to connect to my computer and watch what I was doing. It was annoying because the computer would lag and crash when I was being watched. It couldn't handle it. The software had other features. It was designed for employee monitoring. I fkd him good.

Well you have a Co Laptop expect it! A Co laptop should by all means be used for Co use only and nothing more. Simple solution, Use your own computer/laptop for your personal business not the Co laptop. John Davisson, It's not creepy! If it's a Co laptop they expect it to be used for Co purposes only. The Co that provides the laptop by all means should be able to track their own laptops. It is not a privacy issue... If people are using Co laptops for their personal business/entertainment and called out for doing so that's their problem, They should have known better and had better control over what they do with someone else's property that they were given the privilege to have use of.
