So, say, as an example, a trans woman sees an old picture of herself, in which she still looked like a male, and everyone referred to her as such, she'd get dysphoria due to that, and essentially be very uncomfortable, and possibly even suffer depression due to "not feeling enough like a woman" (I'm sure others could probably explain it better tho)

@AXS_catharsis 2 ай бұрын
Yes! It’s written differently, but he is ‘ta’, she is ‘ta’, it is ‘ta’, and they is ‘ta men’. Sometimes when I am hearing someone talk about somebody else I don’t know, it just instantly goes gender neutral because you have no way of telling what’s what when speaking. Do you know if any other language is like that? (Sorry if this comment is offensive in any way)

@@AXS_catharsis I like the gender neutral TA because not knowing the gender doesn’t bother me. If I want to know I just ask😆 But I definitely have troubles of using the pronouns when speaking English since it is not in my mind set… Not quite sure any other languages does that since Mandarin and English are the only two languages I fluently speak🧐

I'm not tryna be a hateful guy right I think everyone should be able to pick their pronouns if it makes them feel more comfortable in life but I have to say. I've never thought about it in day to day life, changing pronouns. But it's just talking. Like this sort of showed me how ridiculous it is that people take actual offence and feel disrespected when they are referred to based on thier sex. And it really showed me how crazy and soft people are. Again, be trans, non binary, be they them, ze zir, he him she whatever you want and be proud of it that's great ! But what is it that's offensive about being male and deciding to identify as a woman, then someone calls you he or him. Why is that offensive. I'm not being sarcastic I'm actually asking so I can understand better, but so far it just feels a bit silly that to me. For example I like to think of myself as a music producer and dj. But if someone told me I was unemployed I wouldn't be offended. Because I am unemployed. Even though I'm making music and dj ing. That's the way I see it now. Someone explain pls 🙏🏻
@QwertyCaesar
@QwertyCaesar 2 ай бұрын
You don't have to understand. You're simply expected to believe people when they tell you something hurts them
@blankness8
@blankness8 2 ай бұрын
Since you seem to be asking in good faith, I'll answer in good faith. Your example doesn't quite work. From a government perspective you might be unemployed, sure, so you're both unemployed and a music producer simultaneously. So someone could say you're unemployed and you could say you're a producer and both would be true at the same time For pronouns, only what they use is correct. Think of it as a name (bc it's the closest an analogy will ever get - pronouns are used in place of a name). Let's say your name is James. But a random person insists on calling you Henry, even though they know your name is James. It implies a certain level of disrespect (or disregard at best). It's not worth losing sleep over, of course, bc why would you waste your time with someone who knows your name is James but insists on calling you Henry to make a point? Clearly, they don't like you, and it's likely that in return, you wouldn't like them either. It just comes down to that. Using the wrong pronouns is your prerogative, and it's their prerogative to not want to associate with you - or get annoyed, like some James's would if someone called them Henry repeatedly. Just depends on the person.

@blankness8 yea but not everyone knows if Somone has transferred as they them or whatever the terms are. We all know male from female it’s simple to tell. But if Somone gets mad at me cus I said sir when they are whatever they say they are (no hate just saying) then really shouldn’t get mad at me ya know. I mean do what you want but like you can’t get mad at everybody over silly things like that.
@blankness8
@blankness8 2 ай бұрын
@@Mattymat24 If it's unintentional, I doubt anyone would get mad. Plus, no one really cares about a stranger's opinion. If someone has actually screamed at you before for an honest mistake then I agree, it sucks, but if this is just a hypothetical situation then I wouldn't bother making up demons in your head.
@o.t2001
@o.t2001 2 ай бұрын
@blankness8 I see that makes more sense now thanks. So is it's sort of like changing your surname after you get married, and people who knew you before keep calling you by your previous surname because they just for whatever reason refuse to call you your real name. And that's just a bit annoying because your kids and husband/wife all have that name and that's your family now. Just makes that person a bit annoying. And I suppose in the right context it could wind you up. "I don't care if yoh think your a mcgregor your a Smith, you were born a Smith" type thing yeah ?

let's be honest, this pronoun bandwagon thing is so played out by now. Why do these people seek validation from others anyways? call yourself whatever you want, whether you're it or not. But don't demand others to speak in a way that they disagree with... That my biggest problem with the alphabet community. Lot of contradictions in their ideas and beliefs... And I'm gay btw, before anyone tries to call me out. *Edit* I really do love the ASMR though. I've gladly been apart of the fan since 3k subs 🫡

@@Affinity111 I think we’re all aware that the commonly understood definition does not refer to a fear of transgender people but rather a misunderstanding of and/or discriminatory outlook on the identity, just as it is with the word homophobic. It’s a bit asinine to use the literal definition as if I or others aren’t aware of the common usage of the word
@Affinity111
@Affinity111 2 ай бұрын
@@blue_boy6192 well, 1. "Commonly understood definition" is not what definines terms. As you may know, just because a collective of people agree on one thing, does not actually make it true... 2. Nothing I said was a misunderstanding or discrimination towards them... I simply do not agree with their logic. I believe the logic behind their ideologies are flawed and self-annihilating, and that's it... It's not based in any truth. It's merely based in feelings and emotions. And me saying this doesn't mean I hate them or discriminate against them. In fact, they're such a small percentage of the real population, that I just about never come across them... Although, I did used to have a trans friend some years ago. We got along very, actually.
@blue_boy6192
@blue_boy6192 2 ай бұрын
@@Affinity111 1. That’s not entirely accurate. Language is constantly evolving, and dictionary definitions are often changed or altered to include modern and/or common use definitions of words, even if the original linguistic context remains. 2. I get that you don’t see it as a misunderstanding, but saying transgender identity is ideological or based solely on feelings not only denies the historical record but also ignores the treatment of gay people in the past; the same talking points used against trans people to justify mistreatment, disrespect, and discriminatory laws have also been used against gay people. Many have argued that being gay is “based in feelings and emotions,” and therefore can be changed, which is something that I’m sure you, as a gay person, don’t agree with. I’m not saying you do, but as a trans person, your initial comment didn’t come across as particularly kind, helpful, or well-informed. I’m glad you had a good experience with a single trans person in the past, and I’m hoping you remember that friend in order to recognize that we just want the same respect that everyone deserves, even if you’re unable to understand it. Understanding our experiences is not a prerequisite to treating us with respect.
