I've never read an Andy Weir book, but I've heard great things about both PHM and The Martian and yet I've heard terrible things about his book Artemis... curious to know your thoughts if you've read it!

My favourite books were The Kiss Quotient and The Bride Test by Helen Hoang (love the representation for autism because I have autism and I haven't read the third book yet but I will in 2023), Letters to the Lost by Brigid Kemmerer and Long Live the Pumpkin Queen by Shea Ernshaw. I love them all so much 💕💕💕💕

Hey Hailey! I don’t usually comment but I just wanted to say that I really love watching bookmas (I’ve watched for the past 3 years) and it really lights up my whole month of December, so thank you for taking the time to make us this amazing content 😊

Hailey, you’re my favourite booktuber of all time and I’m so, so happy you’re doing Bookmas because not only do I love to hear you talk about books - truly makes my heart full 🫶🏽📚- but seeing your different makeup looks and hair in these videos gives me LIFE! You are eye candy for sure! 🥰🙌🏽

One of the biggest reasons why I like watching you is because you read and talk about so many other books aside from CoHo, since many other creaters I watch focus mostly on romance and people like CoHo and Tessa Bailey, you are always a breath of fresh air and help me expand my genres and things that I'm reading!

You mentioned that you are looking for a book about working out. I suggest you look at a book titled Big Girl Panties by Stephanie Evanovich. It’s not completely about working out but it’s a cute romance about a girl who wants to lose a few and a trainer falling in love

I had several favorites, but some of them are The Girls of Paper and Fire series, The Trouble with Hating You, and Flip the Script. Also, since you like working out you may like The Fastest Way to Fall by Denise Williams. It’s more cardio based, but if you haven’t read it yet, I loved it also.

Top 5 books for me this year were: 1. One Dark Window by Rachel Gillig 2. Twin Crowns by Catherine Doyle & Katherine Webber 3. Night Render by Jodi Meadows 4. Daughter of the Moon Goddess by Suelynn Tann 5. The Vermillion Emporium by Jamie Pacton All incredible books with some flying under the radar since they aren't as popular as some of the others. Highly recommend checking them out! 🌈

Why people still read colleen hoover even after the things she and her son did to a girl, is beyond me.

Facts and the fact her romance male leads are always seeming to romanticise abuse and awful traits. I heard someone excuse it as good because they’re not usual characters and they’re flawed. I love morally grey characters and flawed but Jesus that’s not the same lol

My top 2 favourite books I read this year were definitely Summer Sons by Lee Mandelo and If This Gets Out by Sophie Gonzales and Cale Dietrich. Summer Sons is an incredible exploration of masculinity - toxic and non-toxic, its relation to violence, quéerness, academia, whiteness - racism in academia, grief and trauma, a highly nuanced depiction of codependence and toxic relationships. It's just excellent. And If This Gets Out is a heartrendingly raw and real portrayal of how the music industry abuses young artists. I had significant criticisms, but they're blown away by the fact that this is the first book to ever make me actually break down sobbing.

Where the Crawdads Sing was painfully boring. I DNF'd half way through and looked on Wikipedia to see how it ended. In the books defence, I read it right after Song of Achilles which is my favourite book of all time so it was a really tough act to follow.

I find it so funny that you’re surprised some of your followers like Colleen Hoover. I’ve followed your channel for years and I’ve also been a CoHo fan since, like, 2013? It’s been really interesting this year to see her become so popular and for all of my fave booktubers to read and review her books, even if they haven’t enjoyed them like I have. ☺️

I absolutely loved and still think about Evelyn Hugo which is why I was so disappointed that I found daisy jones so dull, it’s so sad to have such an unconventional opinion because I can’t find anyone who sees my view too hahah
@JClover22 жыл бұрын
Daisy Jones, the character, *was* dull. She did not have anything magnetic about her to warrant all the attention she got in the book. Some of the other girl characters were a lot more interesting. Overall, the book was ok but not a favorite.

Okay the fact that you compare The seven husbands of Evelyn Hugo to Daisy Jones & the six as being so similar in vibe, makes me not want to read it anymore. Absolutely hatedddd Daisy Jones & the six 😅😂 Like I know it's the same writer, but I hoped that would be where the similarities stopped haha.

Maybe for countdowns, place the number next to the book you're going to talk about so you don't have to try and remember. I would have to do that for countdown and counting up 😆 OMG, I can't even keep track of how many times I've read someone talking about Verity. CoHo has been talked about A LOT the last couple of months. Verity has already been on my list, and I found a Collector's Edition at Walmart that I bought for my birthday from money my parents sent me. It's beautiful 😍 I have been wanting to read Heartstopper. My son has a Trans (MtoF) girlfriend, and I absolutely love her. I'm Glad My Mom Died had me 😲😲😲 until I realized the person was talking about a book. I just found out about a few months ago that I have an eating disorder. It's hard hearing that because of all the things we've been told about regarding eating disorders.
@kathy25392 жыл бұрын
I would like to know the age demographic of readers of Heartstopper because I tried to read this cartoonish book and yuck! It is a children's book as far as I'm concerned, I mean it's teenagers at school etc... I think I'm over the age for it! Also to this point none of the picks are on my favourites list. I can't take Hoover at all and Reid is again for a younger demographic, I feel. I also can't take dislikeable characters. I have to connect to the mc and this one, couldn't!
