Being a (35+ year) retired Architect/Custom Homebuilder, I've got to say that had to be the most unsafe operation of a high speed router I have seen in quite awhile (I could itemize the numerous examples, but I won't). I genuinely don't mean any offense and I'm glad you share 'tricks' with others but the entire time I was watching that video I was terrified for YOUR fingers!....and then I saw YOUR fingers and left hand. My point was made. Please try to stay SAFE...YOUR remaining fingers will thank YOU!

@@jackanderson8363 You don't have to hold the wood with your fingers near the blade. They make less complicated feather board attachments for the same purpose, but their heights does not vary as quickly as this design.

Very creative indeed. Another KZbinr was sharing his "tips" after he cut one off his finger - he reminded us all to drop the blade so that it only protrudes a minimal amount above the workpiece. Wise words.

A great and unique design for a hold-down. Can't see how you are supporting the inverted router but looks a little unstable while moving the workpiece that close to the bit. Your fingers may thank you for getting or making a small router table.

Just put a small ramp in front of wood so bearings can go up onto top of wood.

Not splitting hairs or knocking the work, it's cool and all, but once the wood hits the blade any start and stop will leave deep saw marks. You have to keep it moving especially with Melamine. Be alright for drawers in a garage cabinet or if you're running a router to clean the cut up though. Personally I diagonally cut a series of slats about 3/16s or less to act as fingers on a 1x4 edge and just quick clamp it to the fence which also adds anti-kickback assistance. Baby powder on the deck assists in a smooth less resistant push. //////
