you build the exact same way although your upgrades costs being more tilted toward gold you do not have to pull peons from gold to wood as early as an orc player. But overall the speed of the rush is exactly the same this minor difference does not warrant a different opening. 😀

Starting Resources looks so much. Is that usual way on online match?

Yes the most common way to start a match is with high resources. Beginners often struggle a lot more if we pick low resources, although we do that from time to time too I try to keep my games welcoming for everyone. 🙂

Anyone want to point me in the direction of how to beat orcs as human and deal with blood lust ogres. This is a good guide and all but only takes me so far

Get a lead early game by either rushing or getting better trades and powering efficiently, punish a greedy power by sapping/catting them or just preventing them any expansion gold as they may run quickly out of gold depending on their starting mine amount. Overall as a human you are playing with a handicap but not a very big one. Most importantly win or lose keep having fun!

I also found out that not letting your units chase enemy units helps a lot. If you do it right you can get into the orges vision and they will use their mana for blood lust and if you flee they will stop chasing you majority of the time and they will have wasted their mana and blood lust and some ogres will run out of man and won’t be able to cast

Love the game. But i have a question. I saw every single Warcraft 2 youtuber when playing the game, they are gathering multiple groups of units and al the groups are beind selected and moved to the position the player wants. How do you do that?

You can use SHIFT when selecting units to add more units to your current selection. You can use CTRL + N to assign a control group to the selected units of the number N. You can then type N to select those units back or ALT+N if you have an order being queued up like for example Blizzard when multicasting. Hopefully that helps!

2:36 I didn't understand you were so literal with _"always build farms and train peons"_ O_o Btw, I wish keys were rebindable.. 3:31 yeah, tower rushers grrr 4:44 woa, you start chopping wood so late! And without Lumber mill :O 7:25 also the second Barrack is so late compared to what I expected

Its a basic build order for you guys to practice and get better. But you can definitely adapt it for example go lumber mill first instead of rax and go for towers etc. Focussing on making sure you never have your hall idle is one first step toward not getting behind every game :-)

Well... you only build farms when you need the food. if you trade out grunts, you have food left over, so you dont build the farms and you have more resources to spend elsewhere - which is nice. Chopping wood without a lumber mill is a mistake. You make a lumbermill and when it is halfway done you can send peons to chop wood.

lol, i used to play on so low resources, that i had to take gold from mine to build second peon

Yes this build order is specific to the high resources start that we play mostly. Low resources is also played though but is a lot harder for new players. Most important is to not forget to send 2 peons at wood when the 3rd peon arrives to be able to build the second farm as soon as possible.

Well, all i have to do is build 2 barracks. Your grunts will never see my hall with this strategy.

not the point of that build order 2 rax means you cut your peon production to keep them running if you do that from the start this builds just powers to mid/late without any problem. that build is a good standard opening that does not force your hand into a rush or a late game build.

@@Trogallart peon production? I use only 5 to collect gold. The rest of my money goes for grunts and they run over your base before you have a chance upgrade your blacksmith.

@@xxTeamFearLessxx1 well point being this build is a good build to practice and work on almost all maps/situation with a good choke point you can totally handle a rush even if it means you build canon to hold point being you do not cut on your peons prod so you are not forced to win early or loose

Warcraft 2 is not a very demanding game when it comes to pure APMs. It does not feature controls as responsive as most modern rts out there, your decisions and mostly placement on the grid are mostly what will matter here. Top Warcraft 2 players average 200 apms at their max which is very far from the 400 needed to compete in Starcraft for example. That said, no one said you had to be the strongest at the game to be able to enjoy it. We welcome everybody and have a wide disparity of levels so if you feel like giving it a try do not let that kind of thoughts stop you!
