I always refer to this video when doing a Stryfe mod/upgrade, it covers all the fundamentals, and you can add/change bits if you like to suit your personal build. As there's a great overview of the internals and in-depth detailed descriptions and video of everything being done, this is a great place to start, or just use as a quick reference/refresher. Thanks Ryan and the rest of M.T.B! I'll be doing mine soon (along with some other stuff) with some Meishel 2.0 motors in a stock cage with stock flywheels for my KZbin channel, you guys have been an inspiration for me! I don't have much content yet, but I think I gave you shout-outs in my intro video, among some other for your contribtions. I'll have more (better quality hopefully too) videos, once I've edited and I'm happy with them.
@traceputtz5 жыл бұрын
Followed this tutorial along with the one from the OutOfDarts book, Drac mod guide. Turned out great. Used a Graphene 0.95 LiPo to power 2 Meishel Motors with the Worker 3.0 flywheel cage, Containment Crew flywheels. Don't have a chrono yet but similar builds get up to 150 fps. all under 200 dollars including wiring, connectors, heat shrink, a LiPo smart charger, extended mag release, omron switch, and a custom switch plate. This took my level of interest to a "Oh cool, wish i could do that" to a "I need to show my friends that this launches waffle heads halfway across a football field". THANK YOU SO MUCH for this. Great video, answered almost every question i had, only trouble i ran into was the switch, which is very tricky to get right.
@devon84195 жыл бұрын
You ca get even crazier performance for $9, with fangs. I tried waffles in mine and half get decapitated. I'm getting high 150s-mid 160s. I use adventure force darts no and they're the best, cheap at Walmart, heads stay on, super accurate. A 500 tub is only $20

@WoodmanFFM7 жыл бұрын
Regarding the trigger microswitch: Why not just throw in a MOSFET? You could place it virtually anywhere that is convenient and keep the original mircoswitch in place. Far easier. Plus, even the most resilient microswitches won't be able to withstand the current draw of the motors for a long time.
@MakeTestBattle7 жыл бұрын
Because thats a magic cube that can break. Its a trait of my training as an engineer; I am distrusting of things I don't fully understand and MOSFETs currently fall in that category. I will probably do a video on them at some point -R
@WoodmanFFM7 жыл бұрын
I think you really might want to learn about them then. After you get to know MOSFETs you'll ask yourself why you ever put up with the hassle of replacing wimpy microswitches with slightly less wimpy microswitches for handling currents of several amps.

If I used everything else the same except a 2s Lipo instead of a 3s would it still work nicely with the falcon 130s?

Could I do this with stock motors and without a lipo battery? Just removing the resistors and rewiring it? Would that improve anything?

That would help a little bit but very much. Without changing motors or voltage you won't see much improvement.
