cbaca cava yeah we technically wanted to postpone it and it would have been on 20th December but now that won’t work either. I know that there will be other balls and festivities of the sort in the future and that a lot of people didn’t get to have a prom but to be honest that doesn’t make it that much better. When you’re sad it’s just hard to remind yourself and be content with “it could have been worse” or “you are not the only one” because it doesn’t change the situation. It’s just something you do once and you can’t really make up for it. Not like prom is crazy important or life changing but it’s just something that most people usually have and can think back to. A tradition of sorts. To think that when people ask me about my prom now or in the future and I’ll have to say “I didn’t have a prom” is just very depressing. Furthermore it is the last chance to meet up with really EVERYONE before everyone goes their separate ways. I wasn’t close with a lot of people but it still feels like we kinda just disbanded. It’s hard to describe but it feels sort of “unfinished” if that makes sense. Like the last chapter, or final conclusion of a story/book was missing. (Wow that’s melodramatic but whatever) Anyways I’m sure I will get over this but it would be easier to do so if there was something to look forward to. Some sort of light at the end of the tunnel you can focus on. For example planning a 1 year reunion party, that would be fun but because everything is so unsure still, we can’t plan anything, so you just get stuck in this feeling of “all the things we missed” because there is nothing to look forward to. (Also it wasn’t just prom. Where I’m from there are a lot of traditional events the seniors get to do. Trust me it’s a lot and a lot of fun at that. We planned and organised those starting 2018 and didn’t get to do any of them)
