When I first went natural about 10 years ago, I was totally into the DYI mixing all kinds of things from my kitchen. I don’t notice any difference between that and using my store-bought products. Don’t get me wrong I’m not buying stuff at the 99 Cents store. I do buy products with good ingredients. And if I’m in the mood to do a DYI will it’s only a few times a year now. I definitely don’t think it’s necessary to have long, strong, healthy hair. Using the right store-bought products can be just as effective

This is stunning! I have always wondered why people don't just use the actual rice instead of using rice water. It seems like this would be much more potent.

As someone who uses rice water, it depends what rice treatment I want & the amount of time I have. If I have time to kill then I'll use the rice and not just the water since I can strain the particles out. If I want a wash day without the straining then I just use the water.

Thank You for this recipe. My hair loves all those ingredients, but I have never used rice as a protein treatment. I am going to try it. p.s. If you use a Nutri bullet, straining would be unnecessary.

Maybe blend the rice and water 1:1 for a minute and then strain it, then cook the mixture like porridge to prevent the particles in first hand?

Wow I never tried using rice before. I have tried using bananas. That works great for dry scalp. I love Aloe Vera.

My hair is protein sensitive. Too much protein causes my hair to become brittle and it feels dry, no matter how much of the LOC/LCO products I use.

Do you go in with a moisturising deep conditioner after the protein?

Oatmilk, algae, coconut milk, hair mayonnaise - these are good protein treatments for protein sensitive hair. Tip: always add some penetrative oil and honey/glycerine

Bottom of your hair is super healthy curls like coils the top seems to be damaged from heat from straightened hairstyles which is why it's wavy not curly coils.
