Hi Dale. Prayer is #1, yes, and I have a short story to share here. I smoked for decades and attempted to quit 100 times. Some attempts lasted 3 days but some lasted minutes. It was sometimes like "chain me to the wall" while I didn't smoke. It was a powerful addiction. My wife also smoked. I prayed a lot like it seems you are doing and wrestled with this idea of relying on something outside of my control on and off for 10 years. My prayers were answered however. Out of the blue, someone whom I did not know recommended a book. Alan Carr's "The Easy Way to Stop Smoking". This book explained WHY we react to cigarettes and what ideas like feeling withdrawals are actually about. According to Carr, the unpleasant symptoms of quitting smoking, drinking, or using drugs are caused by a psychological addiction, not a physical one. Carr's Easyway method aims to help people change their mindset about their addiction and quit without experiencing withdrawal. My mind opened up with understanding immediately... and I quit. In one day. Just like that. Further, I don't remember ever feeling any sense of withdrawal because I firmly knew what I no longer wanted as a dependence. That day I quit was 6 years, 229 days, 12 hours and 16 minutes ago (I have an app). Not only was the addiction removed painlessly but, according to some computational algorithm in the app, 166 days, 3 hours and 29 minutes have been added to my lifespan. Additionally I have not smoked 41,131 cigarettes in this span of time nor have I spent $22,622.46 on those. The app is a freebie, named MLC (My Last Cigarette). Lastly, the very day I quit and many times afterward my wife would ask me to pick a pack up for her on my way home from work. I stopped at the same mini-mart I always did and bought the packs without a bit of desire for myself. I was around other smokers at work and their smoking did not bother me in the least. My addicted wife dropped her habit one year later and hasn't looked back. I am glad - I think we do life together very well. These events comprised one of the clearest and most profound miracles to have personally experienced. I've sent up a prayer for you now too and just wanted to tell you that "kicking the habit" can actually be fun once you understand what that habit is and feel God's hand at work. Cheers.

I’ve woken up praising god this morning and then this video popped up. This was a beautiful prayer and it made me cry more because I felt every word. God I’ve been thanking you ever since you shared a light over me at work. My relationship with you is becoming stronger and I just want to thank you for accepting me and for giving me and for love me and giving me pain, the struggle that I no longer have because you are with me by my side father god. This Daily Jesus is very timely. I have been in a battle All day within to Not carry the burden for my eldest son. He's been homeless in 1 of the colder States & has been able to get help to stay in Hotels, but after tonight he won't have anywhere else to go. He is an older man with health problems & there is no family there. He has been trying to stay there to help with his son while his Mom is in the Hospital in another state. This Daily Jesus literally has spoken to my heart, what God is wanting me to do. My heart has felt so heavy but I know it's bcuz I've been afraid for his life. He needs to surrender to God completely in his life. So Please join me praying for him His Help comes from the Lord & God wants Jonathan to learn how to Trust God for his Life!
