What about pH. Hard to find info. I have very acidic lawn.

Dolomite Lime is a great starting point, as per label, takes 6 weeks to take affect and some say even longer.

@@travise4198 thank you. Yes it’s the dosing that is hard to work out. I’ve read “one handful per sq metre to raise the ph by 1”. And I’ve looked up what a handful is defined as and apparently it’s half a cup so 100 to 125 ml. Apologies if I’m talking metric. I’m from Brisbane Queensland Australia.

Is it too early to fertilise for spring now? I'm in Melbourne and my Buffalo lawn is looking in need of some care so I fertilised last week. Thanks.

Hi Gerry, yes I would say to fertilise late september down there, the grass is still likely dormant and wont be taking up much nutrient yet. If you fertilised with a slow release it wont go to waste it should last long enough to be beneficial but you might want to look at doing another application in October.

@@LawnSolutionsAustralia Thanks for the quick reply. I used Powerfeed Troforte lawn feed which is a slow release, so I'll take your advice and give it another hit in October. The weather here is warming up so the grass is starting to show new shoots and some decent colour, although there are still a lot of yellow leaves from last year which will hopefully green up in the coming month.

Some say granular fertilizers are best, others swear by liquid fertilizers. I think it would be great to hear a non biased opinion from a specialist as to what are the pros and cons of both types a fertilizers. What say you?
@LawnSolutionsAustralia3 жыл бұрын
They serve different purposes. Its not a case of one being better than the other. A good program will include both. Those that prefer liquids exclusively tend to apply fertiliser a lot more frequently and just prefer the application. Granulars are better value for most homeowners just wanting to keep their lawn sustained for longer periods, a liquid taken up by the leaf can be helpful during times of stress or when a quick response is required (pre or post reno) so a combination is recommended.
