This was a really informative video and answered a lot of questions I had about layering, which is a fashion technique I have recently have been trying. I have lost 70 pounds in the last 18 months and prior to the weight loss, was always too overheated to layer at all! 😂 Thank you. PS. Don't bother with the snarky people and their snarky comments.

I was excited to watch your video when I saw the caption about how to layer tops but I was really hoping you would speak to layering tips for how to wear sweaters (not cardigans or blazers) over shirts or other sweaters. The look I like is when you see a bit at the neck, at the bottom, and sometimes at the wrists but my problem is either the neckline isn’t high enough to pop through or the bottom pop is so long that I want to take scissors to it! Anyway, I did learn some things in your video even though I don’t own any blazers. Perhaps you might consider doing a video on what I just mentioned? Just a thought…thank you.

I’ll keep that in mind for future videos! Thanks. Honestly, I find that layering shirts (woven with a collar) under sweaters is often a nuisance so I opt for open-front layers instead. What you shared is exactly my frustration with it. So I avoid it!

@@KristenCainStyleoh well that explains a lot, it just happens, and it happens to many others, so I’m not alone! So what’s left for me is Joy, doing what i want, less stinkin thinkin

Thanks so much for your tips on layering. I am cold natured and so layering is important for me. Sometimes I would layer and then ask, "Why does this outfit look so blah?" I've written the notes on my phone and when I layer I will pay attention to what you have shared. Love it! Thanks again!

Great video and perfect timing! We are in the mist of a cold spell in SW Florida 45 degrees this morning, but 70 now so I need to layer. Usually it's only when I'm going to a restaurant that I need to layer. I almost always wear a dress when going out for dinner and use a shawl. I have 3, 1 off white, I beige, and 1 muted pastel pattern that work with all my dresses. Shawls don't work when shopping or around the house so I appreciated the tips!

Why a person feels the need to say they are bored with content makes no sense. If a video is not for you move on. Constructive comments critique or suggestions dont need to be snark. I happen to love all of the verbal instruction but I understand some dont learn that way. In that case the shorts are your friend…thank you Kristin!!

Welcome back! I hope you had a wonderful holiday with your family. Very timely topic, I am thinking about my layers for today to be able to remove as the day warms up. I live in Mesa, AZ where we are in our beautiful weather days. They start out cool, sometimes cold then warms up to light weight long sleeves. Thank you for your great explanations.

Great video on layering Kristen. You made it seem so effortless with very basic concepts. I love the mix of new pieces with thrifted quality pieces. Question...I struggle with button down shirts which I didn't see in your collection. I find they are bulky under crew neck sweaters. Do you have any suggestions on the best way to layer them with sweaters, blazers etc.? Thanks 🙂

I would like to see layering under blouses or sweaters, like turtle necks , or things like sleeveless sweaters.

Thank you for really breaking this down in practical terms. So helpful. Just a little frustration though…if you have any influence with the brand Quince….I want to purchase their items as I like the quality for the price and their values ( more natural fibres) all why you really like them… my frustration with finding particularly sweaters for myself is 1) they offer more ‘camel’ shades for the lighter ‘beige’ colors. The warmer ‘beige’ doesn’t work for me. And then when they do a ‘cream’ the cream is too stark. I would prefer more of a true oatmeal color. Any other color then is too dark for what I want like the chocolate brown. 2) Even if they offered the color that worked, then the length of almost all their sweaters are WAY TOO LONG. I am petite in height but not in size. If they even just offered some truly cropped styles they might work. I think they might have one crop sweater or cardigan but it’s not really that cropped. To me it’s actually just a ‘normal’ length. Many are either very streamline and close to the body and long or they are super oversized in shape and also too long. Finding a cardigan that is truly cropped in the right color and fibre is next to impossible. Sigh.

Totally agree with Susan2349. I have too many things in my closet that I don’t wear. Would love to see ideas on many different ways to wear a Channel-type jacket. I am newly retired and don’t know how to incorporate it into my wardrobe which is now very, very casual.

So much good content. For me, it would have been so much more helpful to understand how the layering works with bottoms. Ie would how and what you layer differ with straight leg jeans vs a more casual pant or what if your wearing a dress pant or a skirt?
@sar7719Күн бұрын
Thank you Kristen! That was very informative, especially with the examples. This maybe a simple question and maybe silly, but with all those sheer(ish) white blouses you showed in the beginning, what would you recommend wearing under those if you are wearing in the warmer seasons? A tan tank or a white tank? I feel like I cannot seem to find the right item to wear underneath as most white blouses are too sheer for my personal preference because I carry a bit more weight in the middle, so even if I Iike the pretty white blouses you showed I am not able to wear them. White tanks underneath just feel/look odd to me. Not sure if that is confusing. Appreciate all your videos. Thanks again!
