My absolute worst fear is the knee thing.
@JohnSmith-tr9us Жыл бұрын
Why? If you're gradually increasing weight and focusing on your form, the chances of that happening are pretty slim. That dude was trying to hack squat 8 plates without any sort of experience, doesn't get more stupid than that...
@tm5123 Жыл бұрын
@@JohnSmith-tr9us Well, I'd say my form is decent because I dread the idea of locking out my knees, so I'm extra careful of that. But the visuals of just blowing your knees out the wrong way, is such a dreadful thing, its still a fear. Hell I fear sharks too, so I wouldnt go swimming with them either without precautions. LOL

Eddie: your videos are incredibly engaging and amusing (particularly those with Brian Shaw and the rest of your gang). These ones while very funny point to something important - have you and your strongman friends ever thought of doing a series on "lifting safety"...? I have long thought that gyms would do well to try hard to teach people how to be safe (I know this would entail trying to suppress ego-lifting which is hard with many men...)

I can't tell you for sure what that guy at 0:22 and 2:40 is doing, but I suspect that it's similar to what Michael Jackson used to do when he was performing "Smooth Criminal" on stage. Michael invented a special set of shoes (he got a patent for them I think) that essentially hooked him into the floor to anchor him. If you watch the live performances of that song he goes to a special spot on the stage, and when he's done with that famous lean you can see him "unhook" himself from it. But the shoes still allowed him to dance normally when he wasn't on that spot. Edit: To be clear, it still takes a lot of strength and skill to do that lean. But it's not possible without the special shoes.
