And then there's Frank's (Henry Fonda) death scene, towards the end, where he lays dying and asks Harmonica (Charles Bronson) one last time, "Who are you?" Harmonica answers him, without saying a word, but simply by "returning " Frank's harmonica to him in the same way that it was "given" to him (Bronson) so many years ago. That scene alone, in my opinion, made this movie the perfect revenge flick.

This was my Grandmother’s favorite song; she passed away three years ago at Christmas after around 8 years of fighting (she had cancer). She was working at a hospital as a nurse for many many years, and she wanted to make everyone’s life better. I was 17 years old at that time as she passed away. This beautiful song was played at the request of my grandma at her funeral. My grandfather loved my grandmother so much, that he passed away after some months (he also passed away of cancer), and because this song was my grandmothers favorite song and this song was played at her funeral, my grandfather also wanted to have this song played at his funeral. So, this beautiful and sad song reminds me of them all the time I hear it, and it brings tears to my eyes. I miss them…

There is so much female beauty on screen in the history of cinema, but nothing ever has ever hit me like Claudia Cardinale in this movie. I first saw this in 1997. Utterly discombobulating. Again and again I return to it. She wears the grime and the dust as if they were diamonds. The drenching sentiment of the music, the brutality of the plot, the baseness of the themes and her otherworldly beauty lift this masterpiece out of time altogether and fix it in place as one of those rare works that defines the medium of cinema itself - exactly as the director intended. A mythical moment, once upon a time, being created and being destroyed simultaneously by the mighty railroad.

Marricone and Dulce Pontes - a perfect duo
@loserwinner26543 жыл бұрын
I love Dulce Pontes' voice. She brought that exceptional talent to the new interpretation of the Fado as well. I think she and Mariza are probably the greatest standout successors to Amália, each one in her own inimitable, perfect, unique way.

With great respect, I am an FM - Classical Music Presenter and unless I am way of course, the voice is not Dulce Ponte's voice, Dulce Pontes co-wrote the piece with Ennio Morricone. The voice Ennio chose for the film soundtrack was Edda Dell'Orso

The faces, the expressions, the vocal and the instruments make much beauty and emotions!!!
Eu me transporto para ERA do Velho OESTE.
