I love your tone man! I've been trying out different kinds of pedals and elecs but I can't seem to find that tone. What pedals/guitars do you recommend?

Thank you so much! This is going to be a bit long, but I hope it helps! It all depends on your budget, but here are some of my favorite pedals for a great overdrive tone: Walrus Audio Voyager, Ibanez TS-808, Pual Cochrane Timmy, and the JHS Morning Glory. More budget friendly: Voodoo Labs Sparkle Drive and the Visual Sound Jekyll and Hyde. They sound super awesome as well, and I used them for a long time before changing up my setup (I love em enough that I never sold them). Make sure you try them out before purchasing though! As for guitars, I love Gretsch guitars, but they are super expensive. I'd definitely recommend Gretsch, or a Fender (Mexican or American) with single coils for this kind of tone. You can get some Mexican Stratocasters and Telecasters at great prices. The main thing though I would say is to get a great tube amp. I love my Fender Pro Junior, I used that amp in Our God by Chris Tomlin (our other video). It is not too expensive and it sounds great! A good tube amp would help a lot in achieving great tone! In this video I used my Vox AC30 which is a bit pricey, but it sounds amazing as well. Let me know if you have any questions. In the future I was thinking about comparing different guitars, pedals, and amps; hopefully I can get that going soon! Stay tuned! :)

the tone depends on how you set up your amp not the pedals, if you go for the pedals to fix your tone you wont be filling your spot in the music

Would a Gretsch Jet Club pull this off as well as the Gretsch Black Penguin? Im looking to buy a Gretsch guitar and I'd like to get one that sounds like this. The black penguin is quite expensive.... Great video though!

Thank you! The Club would sound different, but you can get some great tones from it! This video is a great demo: kzbin.info/www/bejne/g4O4YXWVgs52a6M (It's not in English though) The pickups make it sound different. The Black Penguin has single coils, while the Jet Club has humbuckers.

Yes! Sorry for the super late response, but if you haven’t found one, the simplest way to play it in F would be to Capo the 5th fret and play it in C. The song would start on Dm with an Am shape.

There are pauses in the original recording and this version is close to the original. It lets the song breathe and adds dynamics. You can always add things if you want though! Creative freedom!
