Floyd Lechner “the goal of socialism IS communism.” In “Karl Marx’ 6 steps of communism,” socialism is step 5. Just saying
@PtylerBeats
@PtylerBeats 4 жыл бұрын
teslagod2003 that’s why we need more freedoms, not less lol to implement socialism, you HAVE to give up control to the government. And that’s the inherent problem with it. There’s too much power in the government. And it’s not about IF the government will become corrupt, it’s WHEN. So WHEN the government becomes corrupt, they now have all the power to do whatever they want. All an authoritarian government needs to be authoritarian is power. If we socialize healthcare, socialize education, socialize everything, the people no longer control anything, and they no longer have that power. The power now belongs to the government, and we are trusting them to not screw us over. “Power tends to corrupt; absolute power corrupts absolutely.” It’s not about IF the power will corrupt, it’s when. That’s why a free market, capitalistic society where the people control the means of production and the government has limited power is safer for us as citizens. Capitalism absolutely can go wrong, it’s not a perfect system. But there isn’t a perfect system. Because people are selfish and greedy. And when you give people power, their greed starts to show. Look at the police in America right now. That is what happens when you give the government power. Imagine the people in charge of the police right now also being in charge of everything else. Imagine them killing innocent people because they have the power to do so. That’s what happens when you give that much power to a group of people. That is why corporations own their product, and their product only. They are producing products for our society, and in return, we give them our money. It’s an exchange of service. 100% consensual. If i want a laptop, thank God there’s a company that makes them for me. And not only that, there are countless companies to choose from. If the government owned that means of production, you would get whatever the government wanted to give you. And there’s no competition, so there’s no incentive for them to make a good product. This was the issue with USPS before FedEx and UPS came along. Before these free market company’s, USPS didn’t have tracking numbers, they didn’t have 2 day shipping, they couldn’t guarantee that your packages would get to you in one piece, you’d be lucky to even get your package at all. As soon as FedEx and UPS started provided better service with faster delivery, USPS implemented a way for us to track the package. They started taking better care of the packages, and they began to be more reliable. Now, it’s nearly identical service, but USPS is still known to be pretty crappy in comparison to FedEx and UPS. And they wouldn’t have even been half as good as they are now if it wasn’t for private owned businesses and corporations to compete with them. Leaving the power to individuals by giving us MORE freedoms is how we avoid the issues that’s we’ve seen in Venezuela, China, Russia, etc... the reason millions of people have died in these countries due to socialism is because they didn’t have the freedoms to make change. If you’re poor, how do you fix that? In America, you find a better job. Or, the easy way is to supply consumers with a product that they want to buy. If you’re homeless in America, you can make money by simply giving somebody something they want. If you have shoes, you can sell them for money. If you can CREATE shoes, you can sell them over and over again. That’s a free market. That’s capitalism. In a country where the government has all the power, if you’re homeless, you have the ask the government for permission to sell your shoes. Which is all fine and dandy if they allow it. And I would agree that a completely selfless government could ideally run an efficient socialist society. But what if that government says no? What if they just one day say, “Nah... you know what? You’re not allowed to sell shoes without giving us 75% of the profits.” Now, you can’t make enough money to get yourself out of poverty. You’re stuck. All it takes for a government to become to corrupt is for us to give them the power to do so. Again, think of George Floyd and the monsters that killed him and Breonna Taylor. Those are the people that we would be giving MORE power to. When it should be the other way around.

@@PtylerBeats yeah...Marxist-Leninist Socialism, which is not the same as Democratic Socialism. FFS, go back to school. If you're against Democratic Socialism, I can only assume you are anti-fire department? anti-Police? Anti-military? Anti-public education? The list of democratic socialist programs already in the USA goes on.

Watchu mean? America is the wealthiest we have ever been haha the standard of living is the highest it’s ever been. For everybody. Every gender, every race, and every religion. Life is better than it has ever been for anybody. It has been prosperous times. The reason we dont notice it is because we are comparing our lows to our highs. If we compare our lows to the highs of American Citizens 100 years ago, we’d be looking pretty good right about now lol

Tyler Grant I agree that people don’t realize how good we have it but what people are saying is that millennials and gen z are having a harder time building wealth than the last two generations. The cost of living is going up at a higher rate than wages. In the last 30 years college has gotten 5 times more expensive and it’s just not affordable anymore and a lot of college graduates aren’t even getting jobs. A lot of Millennials don’t have the money to buy houses or cars or even have children. So even though the economy looked good and was growing well (before corona) millennials weren’t feeling the effects
