All these years later, the 80th Anniversary Iron Man is STILL the best IMO. It's the most iconic and timeless armor, the accessories were great, and the gold and metallic red colors are still gorgeous

8:22 I think the reason for the forward joints being a dud for most figures for a Diaphragm is because the peg placement is more diagonal with the bottom joint being further forward than the top peg which creates great range of movement for the back movement not so much with the crunch. I figured it out when I took apart a DC MacFarlane figure.

This figure is 100% the Model 24. That suit's design elements fluctuated quite a bit during its brief tenure, but this figure is a 1:1 match with the way it looked like in its first apeparance in Iron Man v3 #73.

Do you have the Marvel Select "Modern Armor"? It's actually the Iron Secretary, and aside from the hip joints, it's a perfect Iron Man figure.

@shartimus the marbeling occures when the staff of factories don't clean deeply and correctly the Die mold and the plastic injection needles shaft still has leftovers/or build ups of the previous plastic resin., thats cheap manufactory process due catch up with deadlines

Soak that hand in vinegar for a while making sure it gets up in the joint. Vinegar breaks down super glue. Very slowly mind you but it won't harm the plastic or paint. I have used it to break pieces apart before and it worked out pretty well. Just takes a while. I had a similar thing happen years ago with a mysterio figure and I got it to work. I didn't know about the vinegar trick back then so it probably would have went quicker if I had.

I try not to go too deep into the hole of getting a bunch of Iron man armors, but this one looked so good I had to get it when I say it on the shelf. I think my favorite is still the Extremis armor, but if this one didn't have the articulation limitation at the wrists for proper repulsor posing this one might've taken it's spot.

I might order this when I get home. This is pretty much the default suit from MUA1 so it’s a must have for me. I prefer this figure to the extremis armor. That one was too dull, I know that’s how it looked in the comics but I prefer this suits colors and design

I’ve got this and the on pre order with BBTS along with the rest of the retro iron man line minus she hulk, outside of whiplash this particular armor I’m excited about getting and im pretty sure it’s the mk. 24 armor , I’ll need to double check with other advancediron fans to be completely sure, but yes this will be in my top five iron man armors in my large shellhead collection

Awesome review! I had this figure in my hand yesterday at Target and it was price checking at $17, and I still didn't buy it. I just never liked that armor. It looks too much like a robot instead of a guy in a suit. My favorite is the 80-Years classic red and gold armor, tied with he Walgreens Silver Centurion figure. Love both of those.

After pulling out a Marvel official handbook and referencing some comic images as well as Amazon images I can say that this figure is a mixture of both Model 20 from the waste up and model 24 from the thighs down. Scratching my head at this. I don’t call these mistakes, because these are professionals with access to all the references they need and these figures are approved by Marvel. Still looks good though. 🤔

I think the neck piece on this Iron Man has been installed backwards on everyone's figures. Try twisting his neck around 180 degrees and see what you think. Thanks for the review!

Affer doing my own research Russ he has the wrong color lower torso for the Model 24 with the gold inlaid on them rib area it should be red but also the wrong color arms for the Model 20 which should be all gold in the bicep tricep area so his armor does not really exist in an accurate form as either Model so I guess Dwight doesn't know his Iron Man armors!!!

I find this armour visually too busy, and robotic-looking - so not my favourite; 80yrs Classic Armour rocks the best. Still, it is IM, and with IM for me, more is always better. It is a great sculpt, and really shows the effort put in to producing this figure. Already on order for me (as is the rest of this Wave - Can't wait for Nefaria and Whiplash!).😃

It's a model 24, the difference in appearance are due to different people drawing the armor. Same armor , many inconsistent designs.

I'm comfused, searching for the model 24 armor the images show no gold in the sides of the waist, and at the same time, the design is the same as the pentagon armor?

The most known version of the Secretary/Pentagon armor is Model 25, but model 24 looks really close. This figure is a representation of the very first appearance of Model 24, which was in Iron Man (vol. 3) #73. You can search for its cover. But I wouldn't call it exactly Model 24. It's a hybrid between Model 20 and model 24.

A very cool Iron Man armor. One of my favorites, but the articulation is horrible. Butterfly joints ain't gonna cut it. Hasblow will be Hasblow. 1 step forward and 3 steps back with them. Man... and I was looking forward to the fig. Hasblow dropped the ball on this one. Ain't worth the $25. Gonna wait till it goes on clearance and then get it to use as custom fodder.
