This feels weird. I hear so many other talk about how much they traumatize their OCs. Over the years I didn’t have the heart to fully screw over mine. They always had a silver lining. Most of my OCs are under 18 so I don’t traumatize them because I look at them like my children or younger siblings. This was a very interesting experience nonetheless

When you're not already expertly voicing a smug and snarky character, like the vampire, I always feel so damn betrayed when a characters you voice suddenly stops being nice.

This was a really interesting script. It also hit a bit too close to home because I'm making a visual novel with a love interest who suffers a lot. If he ever came to life I'd be screwed too. You did very well with voicing this character. ^^ The anger and desperation sounded so real. I love it.

The moment he hit (3:04), I really jumped up in one place. Man, he's saying his grievances to the author, and for some reason I feel ashamed and sad. OC doesn't deserve that and I understand his anger(( Your voice and intonation, Jouska, is so sweet and tender and gentle and charismatic in some videos. But in others it becomes so commanding and rude and angry. It's amazing how you can manipulate the way you play out a character. Upd: he poured water on us...😭 Also, your videos are very immersive in a way. Because the live acting and lots of emotion makes me feel like I'm in the shoes of the author of the novel. Because when OC said "then remind me what happened next," I lay there in absolute suspense, as if it were me who needed to remember... Upd2: tinny, I now understand why OC is pissed off about the whole situation. It's very unfair... Upd3: "it is too late" (9:35) is sad, of course, but excuse me, it sounded so hot. How can I focus on the fact that the situation is totally fucked up when the one making the claims has such a hot voice, hmm?

I've never commented on your videos but this makes me terrified and intrigued about giving my characters traumatizing backstories. Though when I create my characters they often end up being a reflection of myself or someone in my life. As for their backstories, it helps build their characters and strengths, and weaknesses. There have only been a few characters so far that have nearly died in their stories. I often treat my characters as entirely different people who have their own thoughts and feelings and that helps me not be so mean to them for now, at least. To be fair, a creator will often put their favorite character through the most hell because we know our characters will be able to handle it in some way.

This audio is chilling if only because one of the greatest freedoms of writing is that you can write things that do not have consequence for yourself or the characters (least outside of intentional consequences). But this flips that entire belief and reality on its head by not only making the OC sentient but also having lived through the plights of weal and woe!

I’ve got about 10 years worth of trauma to take from and if I had to live through it all I’m going to put it to work. And I’m imagining one of my characters coming to life and being like why did you do that to me and I’ll have to fine a better way than “well it happened to me” to explain myself.
