Nice points! I have a bird room I’m thinking about redesigning to look like a high-end zoo exhibit. I also have a three-sided courtyard that I’m considering turning into a softbill aviary. Question: The courtyard has a metal grate as the floor. It is tempting to only cover half of the grate with pebbles or sand, since the grate would be easy to keep clean. Do you see a problem for birds with metal grating as part of the aviary floor? The grate apertures are about 2cm x 12cm.
