Fecal transplanting. I can't believe he didn't mention that, if for no other reason than the comedic potential.

because that would make people not actually consider this type of tech, fecal transplants quite effective but easily can be written off as a joke, he's trying to teach in a humorous way, not make you off-put

I prepare chucrut in my kitchen. Studies in this fermente foods shows that the activity of the "probiotics" that ferment it multiplies its nutritional value. Also the probiotics ingested could help increase the probiotics in guts. My experience is that one can become very eager to eat it more often and also have a feeling of being full and with increased awareness.

Even if we can not know if its beneficial or not Keffir has a very high feedback from people taking it (with gastrointestinal disorders solved) taking off the placebo thing is a good clue that direction is by there...

''A ten second kiss gives passes around 80 million bacteria.'' Truly amazing. When I did biology at school we studied amoeba and I came away with the idea that all single cell creatures were about the same size. How wrong I was. ''Amoeba proteus ranges in size between 250 and 750 microns.'' ''Most bacterial cells range in size from 0.2 to 10 microns or micrometers (0.0000079 to 0.00039 inches).''

There is research that eating raw healthy greens is better than taking probiotics. But if your Gut Flora is weak then taking lives cultures could help. I suggest Kefir.

I believe that probiotics do help people with awful diets, drug addicts, alcoholic or even people who are dangerously inactive. Elders especially. I guess scince you don't have any studies to back it up we should assume you really don't know.

Yung Razor I guess the human body can adapt to all kinds of diets. Traditional Inuit diets didn't have fiber. They also die 10 years sooner than other Canadians. I don't plan to switch from my Whole Food Plant Based diet. Blue Zones aren't usually meat free, but they are low meat compared to the Standard American Diet. Loma Linda Seventh Day Adventists are one Blue Zone population that is vegetarian or vegan.
