When my son was a teenager, he had the worst smelling Body Oder. A doctor told me to have my son shower as normal and then spray down his entire body with White Distilled Vinegar. Do not rinse, just rap up in a bathrobe for 15-30 minutes, then take another normal shower. Boy oh boy, it sure did work. We also soak our feet in Vinegar for different things.

My thoughts are with you and your family with the loss of your brother. I loved this pantry chat! It was fun and answered question I had not thought of! Keep up the great work! The knowledge that you are passing on not only to your children but is is invaluable! Many times when searching for information I wonder how true and correct it is and if I can be confident in it and I have never felt that from either one of you! I feel like a family member being taught the old ways we are losing! Thank you for letting us all into your lives!!

So sorry for your loss, sending prayers for you and your family. This was a very nice pantry chat, love the change of location. I have been a big fan of Mary Jane for years, that was so great to hear you mention her! And I love that you gave feedback on the mixers, I have a kitchen aid but was concerned it would be too stressful mixing bread. I've had it over 10 years and use it regularly, but I'm thinking a stronger mixer is needed for bread. That was helpful, thank you! Love you guys!

Bosch all the way!!! Just watch the Bosch and Kitchenaid compete on whipping a single egg white and you'll be sold. Unless you're just using the mixer for making things like body products or you mostly only make cookies, the Bosch is just engineered better.

I am so sorry for your loss! Will keep you in my prayers🙏🏼 I had to make a couple of suggestions for deodarant.. i really love "primal pit paste" the name is funny but it is worth a try. I have family who play sports and they use them. And also a company named "Schmidt's". They have both the stick form as well as paste form that comes with a little spatula. I love the paste and just end up using my fingers. I don't trust a lot of other brands because they have random additives in them. These 2 companies have been my go-to for many years now. I have tried making my own but never could get the formula quite right. Hope one of these companies works for you :) God bless y'all!

I love the pantry chats. I agree with Caroline; one needs at least 5 pieces of cast iron :0) I love that your videos are real, raw and true homesteading life. Sending thoughts and prayers for your family during this time of loss. In regards to deodorant; Native is amazing! www.nativecos.com/ It's a bit pricey but lasts forever and works great. My favorite is the lavender and rose. If you sign up for subscribe and save it brings the price down and it auto delivers so I don't have to remember to re-order. P.S. I love the sound of the trees rustling in the background.

Does your cast iron ever turn your veggies black when cooking? Especially cabbage? I don’t mean it’s burnt, I mean it’s been setting on the stove on low heat and over time it turns discolored and black. 😕 is this due to not seasoning properly or is it totally normal?

On the compost - check if the supplier changed the feed of the animals recently. Many times horse owners do not know that the hay they got was sprayed, it goes through the horse, and even composted over a year later, it will inhibit garden plant growth.

I have been watching a lot of 'homesteading' videos on youtube for the last year or so and absolutely love all of your videos. You are both good 'teachers' and Carolyn, you are amazing! I have learned so much.......and even though I have canned and dried for years, you have pushed me to ferment and do other preserving that I haven't done (I have a SCOBY going now for the last 6 months!) I envy your partnership and your well thought out family plan. The struggles and the real life challenges have all been taken in stride and with great composure. I'm sorry for your most recent loss. I am divorced and live alone now, but work full time in a job I love, but also takes me away from my garden and preservation that I love....I do it now in small batches and watch cherries, rhubarb and raspberries go to waste when I don't have time to harvest. I am from the Panhandle as well although now live just west in Eastern Washington and enjoy hearing about your gardening and local 'lore'. Kayaking! Yes.....just take a moment or two to enjoy the life in the beautiful Inland Northwest. That can sometimes be the hardest part while doing all of this....we have to stop and smell the roses, don't we? Thank you for sharing your beautiful life.
