Anytime I hear Mr. Obeng Darko speaks, one thing comes to my mind. Self-reliance, self-confidence and our ability as a people to depend on ourselves for survival and development. We can do it if we are patient, trustworthy and are willing to do it. Travel in itself is a good thing, but travel with a plan in mind. Until you plan your life, you are doomed to fail.

Most of the things he touched on is true but we shouldn't forget that most businesses in Ghana are established by Ghanaians living in abroad or who once lived in overseas. People living in abroad contribute to Ghana's economy by way of remittances and investments. So we shouldn't rubbish abrokiyire entirely with life it is how you make it and the choices you make. The whole situations with our country can be likened to water off the duck's back. The country is unable to create opportunities for its people.

The diaspora is the second lagest economy in Ghana money from outside pump into Ghana's economy yet Ghana is still struggling just reflect on this. Go and watch Auntie Naa's charity for christmas who are the people giving. I watch and I cry for those abroad. Stop the blame game and let us face fact to enable us have a truthfull conversation. 25 years ago I visited one of my class mate in Ghana she was leaving in one room not an apartment but today she owns a house in Maryland since 5 years being in USA for 10 years now. Doing leave out in US in Ghana she was working with an insurance company but could not afford an apartment. A guy leaving in a store not his own with his wife and 4 kids in Ghana after 6 years in Isreal working at a bakery he has built 6 rooms house and on top apartment for rent and his kids are at the University just 2 example. Go and tell this people to come and stay in Ghana. Tell your politicians to stop stealing and borrowing. In Ghana everything is slow and too much lies.

They talk because of jealousy. Gh is slow n full of lies as you said.What People in the diaspora will take a year to do , it will take like 10 years for a regular Ghanaian to do.
@ebenezerowusu784910 ай бұрын
If you don't comprehend what he is saying is better you ask for explanation. Owning a house in Maryland is not what he is talking about being productive is the key. Knowledge is power . And who told you remittance is the second contributor to our economy get your fact right. Your ignorance has been brought to bear. I recommend you go and read neocolonialism the last stage of imperialism. If you are measuring wealth with owing a land in Maryland then I'm sorry you are lost. Net worth is your asset minus your liability. Talk about the mortgage that your friend ought to pay and his liability.
@jemimaasante892710 ай бұрын
@@ebenezerowusu7849 I have read Nkrumah's book long ago I am talki ng of what is on the ground. I pay for exams fee and medicine for people in Ghana a few to mention. The lady who came from Egypt who bought her plane ticket. Go to Auntie Naa's and see the people paying. You get sooo many help from outside economy of Ghanians in the diaspora yet your economy is bad start and ask questions than defending root. Check and read for yourself the remittance of Ghanians abroad that is official excluded the ones giving to people on the road. Was your finance minister not telling diasporans to come and invest in Ghana? So many people who can't afford anything in Ghana travel and they make. Ask why than defending the root.

One of my lecturers told us some time ago, "Oh as for the white man everything he does is good, even when he shits, it's good". I was like, "What??!!"😪. And this is in Knust, in front of students. I basically didn't take it seriously because I believe blacks are equally good as whites. But I know that some of these comments are the reason why we freak out in the presence of whites even though we're educated. We see ourselves as inferior to them.
