This is bs, of course a mother should take care of her child, just like a father should. But women don't have to be at home for that and can have other goals beyond children, like career, hobbies, friends. Some rich dudes won't let their wives work or get an education with the purpose to control them. Then when these women get older, they have no skills when the husband leaves them for a younger one. There are even stories where rich men don't give their wives any money at all, including money for food for herself and children or gas to get to job, just to punish them. Then they accuse women for not taking care of the children. I don't think that guy is like that but if a woman doesn't work at all, she will make a lot less money after retiring and that will be a problem, even when the man loves her. It can also happen with genders swapped, but is just more rare. Nowadays, every woman needs hobbies, interests, and often work outside their home, they just go crazy out of boredom. It is not like centuries ago where both men and women did hard physical labor all day long, that you didn't even think of being bored.
