trip looks good and you both look like you are enjoying iy. Any chance of a bit of a "tour" of Ben's canopy, I like the look of the 3/4 length box and tray setup

Hey mate, I'll try and tee up a bit of a rig rundown with his setup at some point 🙂

Everybody has recovered from the flu and the tow vehicle looks fixed enough to make it up Branco's lookout? Wouldn't mind hearing about how you fixed it please Daniel. Or did it stay cable tied for the duration? I've really enjoyed this GRR series. Visitors to the area should note that it can get really hot at just about any time of the year and strategies to stay hydrated and avoid heat stress should always be in mind. How did you find it with the large number of people using the road and camping spots? There's beautiful socks available featuring traditional indigenous designs. I'd avoid the Temu ones because they're unlikely to be authentic!! Recommend you try Clothing the Gap or Indigenous Promotions as places to start. Thanks 🙏

Great recommendation re: the socks! Thanks!

Ben added a few straps to secure the front diff assembly in place and left the vehicle in 2WD for the rest of the trip - thankfully the tracks up to the lookouts including Branco's were relitively easy (we went ahead to check out Branco's to see if it was manageable in 2WD - not ideal but he made it work). We prefer quiter destinations but knew that the Gibb, being such a well known track, was going to be busy everywhere we went including El Questro. That being said, it wasn't as busy as we imagined (except the Pentecost) so we were quite happy overall. 🙂

Have you guys thought about upgrading to a 270 awning?
@explorebound2 ай бұрын
We've been contemplating a freestanding awning of some variety for a while now, it's just hard to decide which way to go haha. I like the idea of a freestanding 180 as they give you a bit of extra shade on the front than a standard 270 but we'll see. 😊
@deanooh862 ай бұрын
You can get 270 plus awnings that also cover the front aswell. With d zip on the back if you access you RTT from the back ladder. Bushwakka make them and so do some other companies now and they are freestanding

Or maybe just buy white socks and wear them up there for a day 🤣 Great idea though, thanks!
