Nasri was pretty inconsistent at Man City, but wasn't a _complete_ flop. In 13/14, for example, he was pretty electric and ended up with 11 goals and 12 assists in 46 games. It was hardly a Scott Sinclair or Wilfried Bony situation.

As a Wolves fan, I was debating the exact same thing as you were. Jota is nowhere near as good as Robbie Keane (but then, I'm Irish so I would say that!). But genuinely, there aren't many others unless you go back to the 1970s and beyond. We sold Steve Daley in 1979 for over £1.4m; then a record fee in English football! So maybe him. And, surprise surprise, it was Man City that forked out the huge fee!!!! 'King' John Richards also hit 30 goals in all competitions for us in 1979, so in the modern-day, he'd easily be £50m.

I think tarkowski is good but centre backs are the hardest to judge by stats,so many variables,style of play and their role in the team,tarkowsku makes so many blocks and tackles partly because hes good but also because burnley sit so deep and soak up shots all game,whereas in a high press,ball dominant side he would make way less as their is less to do,maybe he would then get caught out for pace? Who knows,like i said hes good but stats for cb's are less relevant than any other position

Players could easily end the inflation by not signing long contracts or renewals. From the players perspective he could :a) cost 50m and earn 100k a week. Or b) Be a free transfer and earn 200k a week.

Nasri was well worth 30m back then easy. He would have deserved a 60m fee in todays market in his prime. I would have personally gone with Alex Song for Arsenal. £20m back in 2012 is about 50m now and he was a very average holding mid.
