Yeah I heard from a co-worker that OBS is good. Ill look into the hangouts, Thanks
@CrankyCoder7 жыл бұрын
I would second OBS. It would allow you to have 2 cameras easily (1 wide shot on you, 1 overhead on your bench) I do live streaming events for my day gig so I have LOTS of ideas. I am working on battery banks, starting small but will in the end be the power source for my green sprinkler system.

I'm still setting here with those big Disney eyes after seeing that box of connectors ! I would feel safe using the 10 awg for those short spans.

To be honest I've accumulated about half as many of those connectors just from working in an office where all the UPSs had those.

Nice work so far. I would suggest, though, not using the Deans connectors between packs, only at the connection to the inverter itself. Make the pack-to-pack connections hard connections (like bolts). You will end up with a much lower chance of failure due to dirty or weak contacts.
@AveRage_Joe7 жыл бұрын
Thanks Man! Those anderson plugs are pretty tight and under spring pressure. I know "they" use them in forklifts and other industrial equipment. I started removing all the wires from the plugs to clean them up and put them in the red and black pairs.

AveRage Joe not hb power wall big but more like 10 to 20kwh. bit of a differnt idea im planning on using a 5kw grid tie inverter with a 180 to 250v 18650 high voltage feed and connect it into my shed supply during high demand uses . yeah the ute with drill battsbis still in the pipe line and some ebikes also cheers man

I really like the Anderson connectors idea. Very simple connect and disconnect. What would it be like to use 4 connectors per pack so you could add packs, then build smaller "building block" packs? Not for you but for someone (me) starting new. Do you think this concept of smaller building block packs connected with Anderson connectors would work?
@AveRage_Joe6 жыл бұрын
Thanks Man! I wanted an easy way to remove and install packs and this was the easiest way I could come up with! Yeah I think a double anderson plugs would work great going at it that way!!!👍👍👍
@jokkiossaka33066 жыл бұрын
Joe, always nice videos but can you draw shematic about the cells? Is in one pack all cells in parallel or series? Sorry Joe but i cannot follow this...
@AveRage_Joe6 жыл бұрын
Yeah each pack is 100cells in parallel the all 14 packs are in series to give a nominal voltage of 48v!🖒

10awg is generally rated for 30amp. But that's in long lengths. I'm sure those short pieces could safely handle a lot more. Probably 60-70. Might be worth a testing video lol.
@AveRage_Joe7 жыл бұрын
Yeah thats what I was thinking aaaaand after I add more battery capacity Id use less amprage on each of those wires/connections. F*&k it Im doing it LOL
@AveRage_Joe7 жыл бұрын
Wow thats crazy. Yeah I plan on using the 10g wire and if it starts to heat up Ill change it to the 6g welding cable.

+Thomas Cruz I never mathed good :) Yeah an infrared cam would be awesome to have but there expensive
@jonason3217 жыл бұрын
50A connectors seems kind of low. But i guess i'm building mine for a higher amperage. I have the capability with my inverter to dump 120amps into my battery pack. Should look clean and easy to swap packs out though.
@AveRage_Joe7 жыл бұрын
There are 2 connectors in each plug, so not sure if they are rated at 50amps each terminal/wire or 25 each wire. I kinda took it as 50 each :) Either way as time goes on as I add more packs the amprage at each plug will go down.
@jonason3217 жыл бұрын
I think the stamp on there at 50amp means for the pair. Your connections between batteries should be rated to handle your expected draw and charge currents going into the bank as a whole. If you plan to run below 50amps you'll be fine. I run a 24v system and my max draw/charge is about 35amps or so. I just wanted to future proof my pack for when i add more panels and if i want to dump ac charge into the pack.
@AveRage_Joe7 жыл бұрын
It probly does mean 50 for the both. Yeah My inverter can only handle 3000watts so thats what I was planning on for now until I can get a bigger one. By that time Id probly have more battery capacity so it wouldnt matter. 2400watts would be the max the connections would be rated for but I bet they can handle more ;) If my maths was correct lol
@fmarpt7 жыл бұрын
what inverter exactly do you have?

Compliment, I like you video and the procedure that you are following while you are building the powerwall.

I would just use the 10ga and keep an eye on it 10ga at 6 inches can handle a large amount of amps. Same here that is why I keep the old time engineer on mine I also us OBS I am making a power shelf
