I have the 2006 Honda Civic LX. Bought it brand new at the dealership on September of 2006. My son now owns this car. He drove it from California to Virginia with no issues. Now he returns the car back to and drove it again to CA with 170k on the dashboard and still running fine. Now I’m using this for work without issues. FYI, service your car when it’s due so you won’t have any problems later.

I answered and said, "If I have found favor in thy sight, O Lord, show this also to thy servant: whether after death, as soon as every one of us yields up his soul, we shall be kept in rest until those times come when thou wilt renew the creation, or whether we shall be tormented at once?" 76 He answered me and said, "I will show you that also, but do not be associated with those who have shown scorn, nor number yourself among those who are tormented. 77 For you have a treasure of works laid up with the Most High; but it will not be shown to you until the last times. 78 Now, concerning death, the teaching is: When the decisive decree has gone forth from the Most High that a man shall die, as the spirit leaves the body to return again to him who gave it, first of all it adores the glory of the Most High. 79 And if it is one of those who have shown scorn and have not kept the way of the Most High, and who have despised his law, and who have hated those who fear the Most High -- 80 such spirits shall not enter into habitations, but shall immediately wander about in torments, ever grieving and sad, in seven ways. 81 The first way, because they have scorned the law of the Most High. 82 The second way, because they cannot now make a good repentance that they may live. 83 The third way, they shall see the reward laid up for those who have trusted the covenants of the Most High. 84 The fourth way, they shall consider the torment laid up for themselves in the last days. 85 The fifth way, they shall see how the habitations of the others are guarded by angels in profound quiet. 86 The sixth way, they shall see how some of them will pass over into torments. 87 The seventh way, which is worse than all the ways that have been mentioned, because they shall utterly waste away in confusion and be consumed with shame, and shall wither with fear at seeing the glory of the Most High before whom they sinned while they were alive, and before whom they are to be judged in the last times. 88 "Now this is the order of those who have kept the ways of the Most High, when they shall be separated from their mortal body. 89 During the time that they lived in it, they laboriously served the Most High, and withstood danger every hour, that they might keep the law of the Lawgiver perfectly. 90 Therefore this is the teaching concerning them: 91 First of all, they shall see with great joy the glory of him who receives them, for they shall have rest in seven orders. 92 The first order, because they have striven with great effort to overcome the evil thought which was formed with them, that it might not lead them astray from life into death. 93 The second order, because they see the perplexity in which the souls of the unrighteous wander, and the punishment that awaits them. 94 The third order, they see the witness which he who formed them bears concerning them, that while they were alive they kept the law which was given them in trust. 95 The fourth order, they understand the rest which they now enjoy, being gathered into their chambers and guarded by angels in profound quiet, and the glory which awaits them in the last days. 96 The fifth order, they rejoice that they have now escaped what is corruptible, and shall inherit what is to come; and besides they see the straits and toil from which they have been delivered, and the spacious liberty which they are to receive and enjoy in immortality. 97 The sixth order, when it is shown to them how their face is to shine like the sun, and how they are to be made like the light of the stars, being incorruptible from then on. 98 The seventh order, which is greater than all that have been mentioned, because they shall rejoice with boldness, and shall be confident without confusion, and shall be glad without fear, for they hasten to behold the face of him whom they served in life and from whom they are to receive their reward when glorified. 99 This is the order of the souls of the righteous, as henceforth is announced; and the aforesaid are the ways of torment which those who would not give heed shall suffer hereafter." 100 I answered and said, "Will time therefore be given to the souls, after they have been separated from the bodies, to see what you have described to me?" 101 He said to me, "They shall have freedom for seven days, so that during these seven days they may see the things of which you have been told, and afterwards they shall be gathered in their habitations." 102 I answered and said, "If I have found favor in thy sight, show further to me, thy servant, whether on the day of judgment the righteous will be able to intercede for the unrighteous or to entreat the Most High for them, 103 fathers for sons or sons for parents, brothers for brothers, relatives for their kinsmen, or friends for those who are most dear." 104 He answered me and said, "Since you have found favor in my sight, I will show you this also. The day of judgment is decisive and displays to all the seal of truth. Just as now a father does not send his son, or a son his father, or a master his servant, or a friend his dearest friend, to be ill or sleep or eat or be healed in his stead, 105 so no one shall ever pray for another on that day, neither shall any one lay a burden on another; for then every one shall bear his own righteousness and unrighteousness." 2 Esdras 7:75 /////////////////////////////////

2:36. My car started to feel sluggish and lose oil. Eventually it started to lose power and my engine started smoking on a highway. Service said that pipes of an engine broke and fluid got mixed, creating a sludge which destroyed all internal systems. I could not understand what they were saying properly, because I lacked visualization. However, this seems exactly what had happened. I literally had to pay my used car cost twice in order to replace whole engine. People, take known defects very seriously, because eight generation civics are literal ticking time bombs.

My wife has owned 5 civics to include our current 2015 that we’ve owned since new. It just turned 90k miles and has never caused me a moment’s trouble except for a noisy blower motor that I replaced myself, and I believe we’re on our third set of Michelin tires. At the last oil change I requested the brakes be replaced, not because they were giving me any trouble but just to head off any. They were still in good condition, unbelievable to me honestly. I spent 22 years selling used cars, I even opened my own Buy Here Pay Here lot in 2010 and I’ve seen a just as many shitty Hondas as I’ve seen of any other makes, honestly it’s all a bit of luck and being able to afford to maintain whatever you’ve bought. (Slim Pickens on the Oregon Coast with dealers snatching up everything.) I wish I had found you sooner, but I watch whatever car you talk about! Thank you for being so very thorough! I found my son a babied 1990 Honda Accord in 2008 and what a little dream it was! Never a problem! @49littlethoughts2 жыл бұрын
@@whatchis1120 Congratulations...I wish I could say the same! I am not a mechanic nor did I have the knowledge or brute strength to work on Maxines engine! I had always owned VW Buses and could work on them if not too complicated...I relied on mechanics, that apparently were not always reliable! I would tell them of the problem I was hearing or having, apparently, they didn't see or hear my concern as a problem... She had issues when I bought her with the 02 Sensors. That model was plagued with the problem so much so there were forums online about it! Many things contributed to her demise. I would say after watching Gregs video on "Breaking the Myth of Buying a Car with Low Miles" yesterday, (which I highly recommend), that the MILLIONS of cold starts I put on her the 18 years I drove her, living in a tiny town on the Oregon Coast was a major factor! It all makes sense now! So many parts needed replacing, the struts were shot which I was never told until near the end, the rear main seal gasket leak that I lived with for 11 years, got worse the last year of her life, no matter how much oil I added..The dozens of other parts inside and out that were worn out...I was willing to pay to have the problems fixed. I was told I was throwing my money away to put that much out on a near 20 year old car...(I disagreed!) I spent about $700 a year on her issues...Easier than buying another used car, not knowing what issues it would come with! Her body was beautiful and people thought she was new...thanks to Meguiars Shampoo and Conditioner! Believe me Dear @Whatchis1, it's not that I didn't try!

Even a young lady who worked at the local honda dealership I visited stated Hondas were coming in for major service more frequently. just picked up an 06 civic for $2000, great car, apart from lack of seat lumbar, no dome light in the front and no ashtray. All of which can be fixed.

I have a 2012 sedan with 5 speed auto (86K current miles). I got it used in 2015 for my daughter and took it over when she got a Jeep. I've had no problems with it. It's a great, fun little car and I love the mileage. Wow, does it sit low to the ground but it handles very good. Maintenance is easy & straightforward except changing the teeny battery causes the stereo to freak out (the code is on the side of the glove compartment). I agree about the seat fabric. All in all I really like mine. I usually get all the hand-me-down vehicles in my family and this one was a win for me.

CarAngel, I’m glad I am watching this after the fact. Last weekend , I picked up a used 2012 civic lx with manual 5speed transmission and the 1.8 liter 4cylinder. So far, the transmission shift from 1st into 2nd grinds sometimes. Thanks for posting this video.

We have a 2006 lx with 106,000. Yes the paint is peeling, the sun visors needed fixing which I did myself. The power steering has been leaking a little not much. There is also, I forget what they call it problem that wears out the back tires prematurely. Other than that, great running little car that is currently up for sale. We just purchased a new Rav4 Premium. Time will tell how this car will work out for us.

I concur with you Greg. Our 2012 Honda Civic manual has 100,000 miles and has another 100,000 left in it. In the 10 years since we bought in new in 2013, I have put in new brake pads all round. And to be honest the old ones were only half wore and unevenly. Recently it has a little shutter on take off. I will be replacing the rear torque engine mount as I suspect it to be worn. Cheers!

Thank you for confirming what I thought. I bought a 2012 Civic EX in 2018 with 75,000 miles now in 2022 I have 126,000. low maintenance nice little car. I have the 5 speed Auto. I think the CVT's are crap, oh yes the paint is cheap and little plastic pieces break, but for a 10 year old car, it's great.

I have a 2014 9th GEN CIVIC with very good result. Mine is not a CVT, just a normal automatic transmission. Only issue I had was with the front wheel cv join. I had many Toyota's including Corolla but i was not happy owning a Toyota, poor quality and bad service. The only time Toyota gives attention to the customer is during the car sales event . After that they don't want to see you again. Honda in Aruba is an outstanding dealership with full attention to any complaint you might have . Very good service and Honda being a very very good car. Very reliable and value for your money . Good reporting Car Angel, keep it up !

Thank you for this detailed video, I really value your opinions on buying used cars.. I will add something very important to this video however, it may have been useful to be clear that this information relates to Honda cars sold in North America, that may seem obvious to US viewers but KZbin Is a global platform and I’m sure you have many international viewers like myself. I’ve bought used Hondas from Japan, Thailand and UK and the model names may be identical and even the generation and years of manufacture but the cars themselves are very very different. Perhaps coincidentally those are all RIght Hand Drive countries, but for sure there are differences in models with the same name. Your advice regarding buying garage kept cars is priceless, I always look for garage kept cars with full main dealer history from the supplying dealer, they can be hard to find but are rarely priced much higher than street kept cars with sketchy history.

2008 Civic Lx just about to hit 100k miles. Have the issue with the visor/mirror inside as well as sagging headliner and brittle window seals. The seals along the front windshield have completely disintegrated. Paint has been fine however. AC system has some issue but its cheaper to just fill with refrigerant once each summer. Rear control arms and both front CV Axels had to be replaced. Basically all of the suspension parts, did not hold up well in the northeast winters. Finally just yesterday replaced coolant thermostat that caused my first CEL! She still starts right up every time though, and has never left me stranded, so even with this amt of issues Im satisfied because it could be a lot worse

Just ran across your channel. Very nice, informative video. I bought a used 2013 Civic LX and it's been awesome with the exception of 2 things. About every 1.5 years, the tray along the underside of the car falls off or breaks off and I have to pay to have it replaced. The other thing is the rotting window seals that you mentioned in your video. Aside from that, it's been a great car. I'm looking to buy a newer, used model to get some more bells and whilstles than what my 2013 has. I'd love to purchase a new, 2023 model, but just can't afford that.

I have a 2014 Honda Civic with the 5speed automatic cvt honestly in my around 14 months of ownership so far it’s been really reliable I’ve done regular maintenance like oil changes etc and replaced a few components that the car needed because of mileage and the worst thing I’ve had went out was a battery current/voltage sensor which is not Evan Much of a bad thing the past 7 months 0 issues runs good and also I got the car at 108km on the odometer I’m over 162km on the odometer now so I’ve put 54km on the car with mostly just normal maintenance so really good so far not to mention for the mileage that I drive a year I’m definitely impressed with the reliability

Great info! I guess I’m not going to buy a newer Civic any time soon. I’m still driving my 1994 Civic DX hatchback 🚗 with manual transmission. It works like a champ. Every year several people, including my mechanic who maintains/repairs the car, ask me if they can buy my car. I say no. I want to keep driving this car for a while.😂

'12 Civic owner here. The paint issue is definitely true for my car, doesn't help that the Florida sun has basically turned it into a heaping mess. I cannot attest to the Bluetooth problem though since mine doesn't have it equipped. It's also easily been not just the most reliable car I've driven but also amongst my family; just a few days ago my odometer finally hit the 150k mark, but it still feels like it has plenty more driving left. One quirk with the Civic I'm not sure how many people can attest to is the VSA and power steering lights will seemingly randomly appear, but disappear once you get on the road. Some people say it happens when the steering rack gets really hot when doing slow driving with tight turning, but I'm unable to replicate it consistently.

I had an 07 Civic. The power steering wasn't a problem until about 150k miles. It was a good car with 1 major flaw: it was one of the most uncomfortable cars I've ever sat in. The terrible seats were enough to make me switch to Toyota.

I'm on my third civic here in Ontario, Canada. First was 2005, a 5 y lease. It was an OK car and successfully weaned us off our previous Honda, 1992 Accord, built in Japan, I believe. Next up was buying a 2009 civic with 1.8 cc with 142HP + 128 Ft/lbs tourque. Good driving car but a little under powered. We owned this car for 8.5 y with no major issues and sold it with 177k Km at end of 2018. Next up is current driver, 2018 HB made in UK. A few more issues with this vehicle. Oil dilution problem apparently fixed with software update. We drove to Florida recently and noticed down there that the A/C wasn't working properly. It is a warranty problem with condenser corroding and losing refrigerant. That will be fixed for upcoming summer months. Another recent breakdown was the windshield washer pump seized up and had to be replaced. Car came installed with block heater for bone-chilling morning starts, like the morning we left for Florida, a month and half ago. Car has more room than sedan model, better passing power than 2009 model. I concur with garaging the car which might help in paint issues. I would say that the last 12 years of Honda civic ownership, being sedan and now hatchback, has been mostly gratifying. I fully support this car buying advocate, Your car angel, as one the most trustworthy. Thanks!

When we acquired my son's '13 Civic, it had those disintegrated window seals, but I ordered a set on Amazon for under fifty bucks, and we installed them in a half hour. They've held up just fine - so I don't put that up there with bad engines or transmissions.

Bought a 2008 Honda Civic LX in 2011 with 27k miles. It's always been reliable but after 8 years of low milage ownership it developed a crack in the block. Found a mechanic who treated engine with head gasket sealant (twice in 5 years) It's worked so far maybe because it's carport kept & only has 57k miles currently. Just now finding out about that crack problem but still runs, coolants leakes a tiny bit around a radiator hose clamp where they replaced the thermostat but not more than I can keep up with. Thought about getting a new Honda but based on all the issues, not likely. So just hanging on to my '08 until further notice

2012 Honda Civic LX one of the best low maintenance cars ever. Bought at 50K miles 7 years ago. Today it has 185K with only regular 5k Oil Changes and 30K drain and fill for the 5 speed Auto Trans. No problems at all with this long term runner! Would buy another 2012 Honda Civic, great bones on this one.

2011 has been by far the most reliable car i've ever owned, and i've had a dealers license and family involved in repair work and junk yards their whole lives and they agree, amazing car. bought at 96k miles from a second owner, at 285k miles now original motor and trans, only things have been cv axles once or twice (typical/expected) and a few bad belt tensioners, and even bad oem replacement ones like 4 in a row til I found a quiet one. And a lil rubber O ring that seals power steering fluid went out on it twice, doesn't want to seat properly. And a single TPMS tire pressure sensor. Only things I've ever had to replace on that car

Hi I watched some of your videos before buying a used car 3 years ago and you were right that never buy new cars because they will have issues later on and the prices drops over the years. Second I came by watching your videos and guess what I bought a Honda Civic 9 generation and some of the issues mentioned came by door trim seals gone and my trunk reverse camera defected on me, paint quality is good and also R18Z1 engine was reinforced not to crack again so that leak was fixed and also I heard some of the models have balance shaft if that goes wrong it will cost some of the owners for the R18Z4.I have 6 speed manual gearbox it's a great car no other issues than that run smooth no ratlling and humming noises also the plastics still holds great and Thank you for this great quality content !
