Hey I'm Anna , Love your videos. So today I've been learning German and I had a doubt when I read a sentence. Can you please explain? I'm soo confused. Please help. So the sentence is :- Als der Sänger dann in Sarahs Wohnzimmer den ersten Ton sang, bekam ich eine Gänsehaut. In this sentence, Wann is used. Why is it used? It makes no sense. Can you please explain as soon as possible 🙏🙏🙏.

Proof I need to study more German, and not fall for "semi-false" cognates. Two mistakes I made reading this, thinking of the word 'unglaublich' as 'unlikely' and 'erklärung' as clarity. Oddly enough the phrase "unlikely teacher = unlikely clarity" could sound very positive in English and very literary as you'd find in an old book. That it's a good thing that despite something being unlikely, it could occur. I love how German makes me thing about language in general! And great video, vielen dank! @yourgermanteacher

Danke. I've got the point. In indonesian schon simply translated as "sudah" while erst as "baru". But obviously i still need a lot of practice to use these words because germans have their own ways to say it.

Ja, das ist richtig. "schon" kann auch als Modalpartikel verwendet werden. Eine genaue Übersetzung ist dann leider nicht wirklich möglich. Es ist in diesem Satz eine Betonung, die ausdrücken soll, dass Düsseldorf nicht großartig ist, aber auch nicht schlecht. Evtl. könnte es das hier ganz gut treffen: Yes, it's kind of ok. 👍🙂🙏
