I have a hard time figuring out which case it is for each sentence if it's not too obvious. Like the examples you gave are pretty straightforward but this one for example: "Wo ist das Auto? Ich habe nach dem Auto früher gefragt" is this DAT or NOM? It's probabily a dumb question since the verb is sein, so it would be nominativ but the 'wo' and the 'dem Auto' are messing me up, help!!
@yourgermanteacher3 жыл бұрын
Wo ist das Auto? Auto = Subjekt - Nominativ Ich habe nach dem Auto gefragt. Ich = Subjekt - Nominativ Auto = Objekt - Dativ because "nach" requires Dative case. Before you try to figure out the cases, you can check for the subjuct first. The subject is always in nominative case. In your second sentence here you need to apply dative case because the preposition "nach" always requires Dative case. I hope it helps a bit. 🙂👍🙏

It can be concluded that the use of the relative satz accusative is the same as the relativsatz dative, the difference is in what case the verb requires. Is it correct?
@yourgermanteacher3 жыл бұрын
Basically it's correct, 👍🙂 but there are also other factors that decide which case has to be used, not only the verb e.g. prepositions. 🙏 We also have a video about relive clauses with accusative. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gKuUn4V4fp6sotk

At 2:06 the teacher says that „ihr“ is the feminin relative pronoun in dative. Shouldn’t it be „der“? As he notes at 1:54, „ihr“ is the personal pronoun, not the relative pronoun. And at 2:54, it is noted that „der“ is the feminin relative pronoun in dative.
@yourgermanteacher Жыл бұрын
Yes that's a mixup that happened during recording. 🥴 "ihr" is the personal pronoun as marked on the table. And "der" is the relative pronoun. Unfortunately KZbin doesn't give any tools at hand to correct mistakes once a video is uploaded. 🙂👍🙏

Hi... my apologies.🙏 We will add English subtitles soon, to make it easier to follow the video. 🇩🇪💪👍 We know it's hard to get used to 100% German videos. The reason why we created this video without English is based on the level, which is B1.1. (Luzi's video about this topic is A2.1.) The idea is to help students to improve their listening skills, as listening will be the most difficult part in proficiaency exams B1 and upwards. The sooner students start to practice their listening skills the easier it will be later on. 🇩🇪🙏👍

Hi Youssef, This grammar topic is part of B1. We made this video in German without any English with the intention to give B1 level learners a chance to practice their listening skills.🙂🙏 As you said yourself, you are still a beginner 🙂🇩🇪 but once you have finished your A2 level and start with B1 you will be able to understand this video easily. I will turn on the automatically generated subtitles that KZbin provides. They are not perfect, but maybe they help a bit. However I still recommend to learn the grammar in the right order step by step. You can use our playlists for A1.1. and once you finished it, proceed to A1.2 and so on. 🙂 Viele Grüße nach Brasilien 👋🇩🇪🙏

Hi, the previous videos which explains about the cases if relativ satz in nominative and akkusativ were easy to follow , but this one didnt find so...... If you could english while explaing concepts, then it will be helpful for students who are not so familiar with German. Also, I have a huble request that kindly use simple sentances which are easy to follw ,while giving examples , because foreign students may find it difficult ,,,
@yourgermanteacher3 жыл бұрын
Hi, the reason why you find it hard to follow is because it's a B1 level video, that is not meant for beginners. 🙂🙏 The other two Relative clauses videos in Accusative and Nominative are very basic A2 level topics which we still explain in English. But some of our higher level videos we intentionally made in German only to give students the chance to practice their listing skills while watching a grammar video. All words that are used including the example sentences are considered ready at this level. 🙏🇩🇪🙂 Once you reach the level which this topic is made for you'll see that the sentences aren't digit for that level at all.
