Lucky you, my anxiety would never let me sleep well on buses or trains, i always sit in the back to keep everyone in check, i trust no one, not even my reflection in the bus window lol But, as a kid, being forced to take the bus every day for school was the norm for everyone, that's when i had a nice sleep on the bus (not great though, still paranoid about people, but less, since i also had friends around that balanced it out)

i love this it remembers me of back then when i was 10... my father worked a lot so he couldnt come with me and my mother into vacation and couldnt drive us we live in germany but a big part of my mothers side still lives in croatia so me and my mother always used the bus to travel. i live on the country side so we needed to take the train into the nearest city to get to the bus station. Its always so exiting, packed my stuff way to early at the morning couldnt sleep the night before and then it finaly is time to go got a big hug from my dad then we walked to the trainstation while my father was waving (we would take vacation together but not that year). the train was fun but its always the same places i saw. then we arrive at the city we always went to get a little snak at the trainstation bakery i always took the chocolate filled croisants and my mother took a coffe a bit later in the evening our bus came with an big engine the driver put our luggage into the storage and i wanted to help he complementet me that i was so strong :D inside the bus there where those overly confy fabric seats with cupholders and those cool feetrests that are loose i always played that i would drive and pushed the feetrest like a pedal down every time the bus acclerates and i alwas had my little plush dog with me sitting on the cupholderplate, i loved that plush puppy so much. when i was sleepy my mother let me lay down on her bag she had layed on top of her legs so i had it confy, sometimes i put my head against the window but the vibration tickled too much in the ears when i got used to the tickeling it wasnt that bad and so interesting to see all the colors of the citys and highways i never realy see on the country side while the sun slowly goes down and the bus interior light dimmed~ sometimes it felt like a space ship all this relaxed so much with the engine noise and rumbling like in the video i slept so good with this some times the driver needed a rest so the mikrofone cracked a bit not anoyingly but somehow relaxing then he startet to talk calmy not to wake the sleeping people with a dark but lovely voice "pet minuta pausa" it translates to five minutes pause the first thing i realy could understand in croatian and told my mother that he said five minutes pause on croatian i felt so proud and my mother did that mother thing that she would be so surprised of me :) then we got outside so she could smoke a cigaret and i was kinda sleepy and out of the warm bus i stood in that gasstation bus resting area it was such a mild wonderful summer night. it was cold but not unpleasant i still shaked a bit but felt so good anyway. i was just scared that we would miss the busdriver when he enters the bus again (i know the bus driver waits but my 10 year old self always was scared about that) thats why i always took my plush puppy with me outside so he wont get lost and be scared to be alone (i cant remember where i put my little Medo i miss him :( i hope i find him one day again somewhere in my old stuff because of all the memories we had) we needed to drive throuh austria and slovenia to get to our location there are mountains and many tunnels those are so relaxing to drive throuh too and then there are the borders where police men got on the bus to check the papers i was exited and showed my papers by my self (mother showed both of our papers by herself normaly). i loved the borders sometimes we needed to get off the bus so they can search stuff and there is a border that isnt in use anymore but its.. i think part of slovenia theres a lighted castle of some kind on a mountain part. in the dark it looked like it floated~ i watched a lot of studio gibli animes that time so i imaged it was laputa haha and finaly the part where we get into croatia all the signs start to be on croatian until we got to the bus station in zagreb it startet to get morning the sun rises and we drove with my aunt to our little farm far away from civilisation where my entire family waited on the entry way with chicken sound in the background and our guard dog that was so happy to see me. still a bit dark outside my grandma made fresh eggs with bacon and such a good tasting chokolat milk with fresh milk while the crickets chirped outside, the smell of real countryside with wheatfields and that unbelievable good feeling of a 10 year old carefree kid in a world that was perfect i wish so much i could re life this day again like i was 10...

The bus around you is quiet - your fellow students and the chaperones, all going on the art trip for that year, have dropped off to sleep one-by-one leaving you the last awake. You look out of the window to your right, seeing nothing but the darkness, illuminated by a little bit of moonlight. You look to your left, and see your (boyfriend/girlfriend) curled up against you, sleeping peacefully with (his/her) head buried in your neck and their soft breaths reaching your ear. Your own thoughts slow down as you start to drift off, and the last conscious thought you have before you fall asleep is spent on thinking of the fun you'll have with your friends in the city...

The best sleep I ever had was definitely on a charter bus though my neck was hurting from not having a pillow or 2. Especially traveling 15 hours from NC to New Orleans back in July 2018 for a conference with my college and from NC to New York back in April 2008 with my Middle School.

I remember riding the bus home for 6 hours. Everyone went quiet and fell asleep. Even though my neck hurt like hell when I woke up it still was really nice

I remember me and my family would usually go on trips with bus's cause first of all we didn't have a car and tbh we just liked how comfy using the bus's were, I remember we went to Niagara falls in Canada once and on our way back it was dark and cold snowy night. We had the seats on the second floor to the front of the bus and I fell asleep there and it was very relaxing

Nostalgia feeling after playing an away college basketball game and you have a lengthy ride back to your campus. Coming back in the middle of the night. Lol used to be knocked on the bus.

This sound really does exactly sound like the greyhound buses! Now I want to travel again.... I wish there was an image of an interior of the bus in motion though!

My grandpa used to love the sound of the road inside the bus while he sleeps, too bad that he was the driver.
