Dear Friend, Namaskar 🕉️🙏 So happy to read your comment. Most of my life, i considered myself a Christian who loved God and Jesus but at 55 years old, i looked around our congregation and found so many that related to the faith so differently than i. It was the time of the Iraq conflict and many of the flock were in favour of war. I became despondent with these incongruities and eventually left my church. But a seed was planted, years prior, by a painting of an old, Indian man that hung above the mantle in the house i shared by my English wife. His name is Sri Ramana Maharshi... the picture was painted in Tiruvannamalai in 1973 by American artist Wendel Field, given to my wife before she returned to England after a six month stay and eventually landed in that small cottage in Kew Gardens in 1983 She and that painting changed the course of my life, yet it would take decades to come to fruition. Today, I live in Tiruvannamalai as an initiated, American/Hindu Monk. This is the last chapter in this life and i have benefitted greatly from both my previous Christian faith and Vedanta. The whole point of advaita vedanta is to realize that all apparent contradictions and horrors are here for a reason- to remind us of the necessity of unity. Without clarity of this oneness underlying all differences, one can't transform themselves and by implication, others..once you truly believe that your clan is better than others, you are no longer a spiritual seeker. Kabir, Data Sahib, Sadhu Singh, are all equally important figures to the Indian mystical tradition, albeit following different paths to the Truth.

Having listened to a lot of talks from Swami Sarvapriyananda when he was interacting with various other individuals I was vacillating between whether to continue further or not noticing the quality and nature of questions that this interviewer was posing, yet skeptically and patiently I continued for the most part, and as expected Swami did leave us with some pearls from the Geeta towards the end: नेहाभिक्रमनाशोऽस्ति प्रत्यवायो न विद्यते | स्वल्पमप्यस्य धर्मस्य त्रायते महतो भयात् || 40|| Shree Krishna says that no loss ever comes from endeavor made on this path. This is because whatever material assets we accumulate in the present life have to be left behind at the time of death. But if we make any spiritual advancement on the path of Yoga, that eternal spirit preserves it, and gives us the fruits in the next life, enabling us to start off from where we had left.

Very inspiring to listen to You always, Rev.Swamiji Granted that spiritual practices issue result,Very hopeful But,l don't know, why l am so disturbed, when l hear about, read also, aspirants becoming insane while they're pursuing their spiritual goals. My headache hasn't been proven but I suffer intensely. Earlier l would dwell on Tat Twam Asi or Drig Drishya, Vivek or The story of 10th man ,would find, get relief. As I'm progressing in age l seem to have lesser results n the quality of meditation becoming shallower...cannot don't feel the depth that l used to have I/my mind is more in the grip of anger which makes me repentant. Pronams 🌷Swamiji 🌷 hope I get back better state of mind with also rapid decline in the progressive Movement Disorder. Bless me, Rev.Maharajji. 🙏
