It was in the UK but it never got officially released in the States. The more widely-circulated one is the cut from the Live Through This sessions which has different lyrics and a slightly different chord progression-a lot slower and more funereal. The Unplugged version is probably the most well-known though. I honestly yprefer this version--the lyrics and the images she evokes in it are way more interesting.

Yes, there is an official release of it, the single is called ' 'Beautiful Son ' ' . If you have it read the back of it and see where it was produced at, and the year. Hole was in the UK at the time. ( Owner of the CD & Vinyl )

Who was she speaking to in the lyrics to this song? At first I thought it was Billy, since most all the songs she wrote during this time were about him and their breakup. But the "go back to rehab" line would not fit, as he never had substance abuse issues.

Novelselic is butthurt that he’s not getting royalties for this song because it’s a half-written and played Kurt song, therefore a Nirvana song, therefore Khrist should be receiving royalties for it. Yeah. Seeing as how Courtney and Kurt lived together as lovers, both had there own very successful rock bands there was a lot of creative mixing, like perhaps Kurt has a song that is half written he’s got some of the music a title but no words. Courtney picks up her guitar and fleshes it out with some great lyrics. And either one or both say “hey that should be a B-side for Holes’ next single” and they both agree, no big deal. God or Khrist or the devil is not involved creatively or even in the writing of coattails. It’s a Whole song now stop your crying and deal!

Because Ioved the version Kurt wrote, I figured I'd give this a fair chance to see if i liked it as much. Which I did not. Would you prefer I *NOT* listen to it & just proclaim that "I have not heard it & it sucks!" "Live Through This" is an excellent album by Hole. I Think its great. "Celebrity Skin" is an average album. I think it's nowhere close to "Live Through This". For the same reason I listened to Live Through This & Celebrity Skin I listened to this. TO judge if it is something i like & will want to listen to again That is why I "bothered" to listen to it. Same as the reasons why all people listen to music...to see if it is something they will like/love that they can enjoy forever. It is not exactly complex.
