Thanks, Coach! I moved from Denver to the country desert of AZ over the summer!. Leagues run a little different out here. Winter league practices started last night. 2 weeks (Mon/Wed) of practices before first games, how cool is that? I’ve been following you for 3 years now. Thank you for everything! You’ve help me become a decent coach and even impressed a few parents along the way. Pretty crazy how fast Noah is growing also!!

Right! We just signed up for mid winter ball. Which starts Jan 29. Hope you are enjoying AZ! Thx for watching and putting in the work over the last few years. Yep, it’s insane to look back at his growth - as a kid and player!

Awesome video. Will definitely be watching with my son and showing this to my other safeties. Teaching them to turn towards the middle of the field while running back is going to help them a lot.

This kid actually seems really good at playing the “monster” position lol

Yep, he's pretty solid out there. He told me what to teach in this video...so he knows his stuff.

Thanks coach. I enjoyed the athlete's input and terminology. I have two questions: 1) Why do you call safety "monster"; and 2) if you have three at 7 yards deep and one monster, where is the fifth defensive player in 5v5?
@CoachD Жыл бұрын
Yeah, it’s great to hear from players. The scoop was completely new - in that video! 🤯 1) when Noah started at 5 years old and he was put in the back, he would always growl and show how “aggressive” he could be on defense - it became “the monster.” 2) we mix this up but it’s a version of the Husker. 1-3-1. One LB in the front, 3 yards off the ball in the middle. Then 3 at the 7 yard line and one safety in the back (the middle player on that second line is usually a LB or rusher). The other version is to play 2-2-1, which moves the LB up to the 3-5 yard mark, 2 CBs at 7 yards and my monster has visibility of the entire field.

We call the LB monster, as in Monster in the Middle. Thanks coach!

Are there any videos on where to put certain players on offense and defense ? Example: fast kid plays blank on defense, good thrower plays qb and so on ?

For defense watch this: Youth Flag Football Tutorial | Defense techniques That Work | Fundamentals Strategy Formations Coach kzbin.info/www/bejne/oHm4qmdqnpaDpck Or grab my defense playbook where I tell you exactly where to put players: flagfootballwithcoachd.com/products/coach-ds-complete-coach-defense-playbook-new-and-popular For offense, all my playbooks comes with a guide and video walkthrough of who to put where: flagfootballwithcoachd.com (click 5v5, 6v6, or 7v7). Also, this is a popular video for offense: kzbin.info/www/bejne/a6ablaaGrdCDibssi=RXCVYfy62x4W2t6i (my plays are now a different format and made with my own Play Builder). Those videos and resources will give you everything you need.

Quick question coach are you able to spin in flag football they told us we can’t but I don’t see in the rules that it says you can or can’t
@CoachD Жыл бұрын
In most leagues you CAN spin. We just can’t dive for extra yardage.
