I'm using Dirac Live along with my acoustic treatments in my dedicated mostly 2 ch (mostly) large room. I was astonished by the difference Dirac Made. Outstanding product.

Yes, I say that do the most passive treatment in the physical that you can. Then the active software will do the rest/better/easier than without the passive help.

ART sounds like a true game changer, esp where passive room treatment is challenging. I feel the Dirac platform is far more attainable to 90% of the mid HiFi end of the market than Trinnov. Here is hoping that the AudioControl XR AVRs that have Dirac with DLBC built-in will support or be upgradeable to ART come October 2nd 2023 for similar $299 licensing fee. 🤞🏻

It would be a miracle (for me) if this 299$ feature can really replace room threatment for 20k$ and more. I still doubt it, but let's wait for the independent reviews.

The Onkyo RZ 10 has done a great job with how they set up Dirac. Also it's included. No upcharge. You can use on the simple side with a cell phone/tablet, or if you really want to you can dig in deep with a lap top and aftermarket calibrated mike. How complex you make it is up to you.

I believe so as it’s an entirely different method of bass management.

You can always go with Helmholtz panel bass traps which lets you handle low freq's in much more doable size.

Helmholtz resonators are tricky to build and impliment well. They need to be tuned very well for the specific frequencies. And need to be placed on a very specific position. Plus they can need modifyed re-tuned after only a short while. Ie why majority of high end dedicated home theaters don't use them!

Very informative thank you so much ! Room gain is not true anymore with ART for sealed subwoofer right? Beacause it kill the resonance of the room that help the low end of a sealed sub if i'm correct?!

It would be good to something like a summary from a 2 hour talk. ART good, or not good? I have a Stormaudio MK16 and could be one of first to get this but I don't want to waste money...

I plan on going back through and adding chapter markers but here is some info. If you bought your Storm before Jan 2023, it will be a $299 upgrade to add ART. Units purchased Jan 2023 and later will get it free via firmware update. Seems very promising.

Outstanding presentation that I missed as an original broadcast. I feel a sense of FOMO with spatial audio that most of us will never be able to afford what it takes to get this into our theaters(at least for now). Since im in no way a sound engineer Im wondering if down the road DIRAC could put the entire suite of products into a stand alone box with the ability to perhaps use a USB out connection to any processor or receiver, giving the average user the ability to affordable input this correction into their home theater ? I can only dream what kind of a game changer this would be.

Hey Michael I always love to see and hear these discussions but I was kinda disappointed to hear the prices of storm audio. Don't get me wrong, here in Malta we just had a supplier who took over Trinnov and is the official supplier for our country, I had the opportunity to hear one, the altitude 16 if not mistaken and it sounds amazing, but in my opinion not the asking price amazing. I really liked your comment when storm was describing the new integrated model running ice power and you told him 4 grand soon after he told you below 20k. I really love this hobby believe me, but no regular person with a salary can afford this 100%. 3 grand was already too much when I bought my onkyo processor around 10 years ago, now to purchase a yamaha integrated amp it's 3900 €. Where is this going I ask? I love this hobby, but believe me if you go to those prices in my opinion you will enter the law of diminishing returns. My processor is stone age by today's standards, still everyone who hears my 5.1 system is impressed to this date. Was considering to upgrade to atmos on my 15 5 foot room to at least add 2 ceiling speakers since I have an 8 channel amp so I still have 3 free channels to work with,but considering an emotiva is already over 5 grand here in malta I think it would be crazy to invest this much money just to gain better user experience and have height channels. Please tell me what you think. Thanks and keep up the great work you all do, I really wish I was living in the US as I would gladly come visit what you are planning to do.

The law of diminishing return is at work in every hobby. If you want the additional percentage increase, the more you want to improve, the more you will have to pay and that improvement is not proportional to the amount you pay. That's just life. I love having an Atmos system. Fortunately, you can get a great Atmos experience with a solid AVR.

can i use the marantz 7015 as amp when i bying a 8015 as avr.

Technically yes but I would recommend selling it and buying a dedicated amp if you feel the 8015 does not provide enough power.
