YouTube Copyrights for Cover videos | All you need to know !

Hey guys , I’m back with a new video . Since so many of you guys have been asking me questions about KZbin Copyrights , I figured I should just make a video about it .

Copyright Claims are different from Copyright Strikes. Copyright claims are not harmful to your channel. You can leave all your videos there with copyright claims and still be monetized. But monetization might be shared with the claimant. If you DISPUTE the copyright claim, and the owner rejects it and says that the claim is still valid, your channel is still safe, no harm at all. If again you decide to APPEAL the copyright claim, this time the copyright owner can reject the appeal and request youtube to take down your video (not your channel). If this happens, your channel gets a copyright STRIKE. But then again, your channel won’t be taken down. You are allowed to have 3 copyright strikes before youtube finally takes down your channel. The thing I do is that ask the owner for permission always remember to do that only if the owner allows, you can easily use their instrumental pls just ask and it'll be fine😄

@SouLoveLee I didn't say about a song's lyrics I said it about instrumentals that you find on KZbin giving credit to the musician is a completely different thing I mentioned INSTRUMENTALS.

Hi there. I'm assuming that you meant to say copyright claim as opposed to copyright strike? Isn't there a difference as far as copyright strike being more severe?

Copyright claim is where they are just claiming the revenue from that video and a copyright strike is a legal issue where they decided to take down your video

Thanks for the info. It can be very difficult to contact an artist or their estate. I just learned you can use an online service. You can upload your song and they will do a basic negotiation for you and upload it to your channel for a small fee.

Why isn't it easier to make covers (no monetization) without getting claimed/striked? like these are just harmless covers, i understand why copyright is a thing but it's not like im going to make a cover and claim it's mine when justin bieber or some big artist made it.. very frustrating but..ehhh...

Hii :D Thank you for this video, it's really helpful. I got some question if you don't mind. You've said that the channel might be taken down if it contains too many copyright strike, so I was wondering how many is too many. Suppose, from my understanding, cover video usually have copyright strike, then how many video can I upload to avoid reaching the maximum of copyright strike and have channel be taken down. This is completely up to how the copyright owner wants to handle this. There is no hard and fast rule. In general, the music business is in general becoming more restrictive with this. It used to be easy to do covers years ago, now it is becoming more difficult.

Anurima Khaskel i have a same question, but i checked other cover singers channel, almost all there videos are claimed... so i imagine, may be no, ur channel will not be deleted... also if u r unsure, post ur videos on other social apps too.. like facebook, insta maybe... just saying 😁

Just fyi, I am sure most of us know, but she means copyright claim. If she had a copyright strike on each of her videos, her channel would have been taken down. (3 strikes max). Keep hustling guys, it will pay off.

I believe your are often using copyright strike when you mean copyright claim. You can't keep a video running when there is a copyright strike. And if you het three, your channel get taken down.
