YouTube Not Showing Full Screen (FIXED!)

Let's fix KZbin if it's not showing the full screen when you watch a video.
KZbin has two different ways to switch from the small screen to full screen. One is to tap the little full-screen icon in the video itself. This will rotate the video and make it full screen. The second option is to just manually rotate your iPhone or Android and it will switch to landscape fullscreen mode. You will want to make sure your rotate lock isn't turned on. Lastly, if the video doesn't fill the entire screen of your phone you can double-tap on the video itself and it will zoom in to fill the entire usable screen space. These tricks work for both iPhone and Android in 2021. If it's not showing full screen on your smart TV you may want to change the aspect ratio or if you're casting the video you may want to adjust how it casts and the screen dimensions on your TV to match KZbin. Typically, KZbin video dimensions are 16:9.

All you did was show how make it go to full screen when everything is working fine. This doesn’t show how to “fix” anything. I’ve tried all those obvious things and I still can’t get it to go into full screen.

You have basically mentioned the things that I already knew. After an update, i cannot change to wide screen, or after certain delay only then it can go wide screen.

Same here, when I open a KZbin video from a link I cannot use the full screen button. My fix is to close the app and open the video again from history. But even that takes too long

You aren't answering the problem. The issue is I have youtube already on full screen. When an ad comes up, the show shrinks down 75% after the ad, with the rest being black screen. In order to restore it to full size, one must shrink it down further, then open it again, then touching the full screen icon in the lower right corner. Why are all the videos shrinking after ads are played?

I have the exact same issue. It showed up yesterday. After I updated my iPad. I uninstalled KZbin then reinstalled it and the issue is still there. It’s annoying AF. I am never doing an update again.

The exact same thing started happening about one week ago to me. After an ad plays my screen shrinks. I then have to touch the shaded part to shrink it then enlarge again. It gets very frustrating when watching a series. If you guys find a solution, please let me know. Thanks. I'm guessing if enough of us are having a problem, perhaps it's KZbin. My problem occurs on my iPad air but not on my regular iPad. So idk.

Sometimes :yt: shows a message saying "Full-screen activated" or something, how can I disable that? It's very annoying and it's deleting some of the bottom and top screen content

Seems like that was pretty much the basics which anyone that has used an iPhone for at least 6months would know how to do.. my problem is that I open a video in you tube app and every like 1 of 4 videos will stay on small screen and will not rotate widescreen.. I’ve messed with rotation lock as well as holding sideways. Occasionally if I toggle rotation lock on and off it fixes it for that instance.. only fix so far has been to quit app and reopen which gets pretty old pretty quick lol

Guys, if you're here because the KZbin video is actually playing as a small box in the centre of your screen and it's all black around it-log out off your T.V and sign back in. This just worked for me now.

None of those things work for me (i dont have any little boxes at the bottom and if the screen is small I cant see anything else to click.) Turning the phone makes no difference either. Mine will just randomly switch back - like its waiting for when its ready to be nornal again. I have had REVVL phon the last two ive had and ive had notbin but problems with these phones.

If your problem is that the video is showing that it’s “zoomed in” on your phone, or if the video isn’t fully spread out to the corners even in full screen then keep reading this, All you are going to want to do is close the KZbin tab out of your phone and restart your phone. Then it should be fine.

Hi Trevor. How about if the youtube video is in the centre of the screen and one has to scroll up and down the video to view it. It's not full screen and it's not in theatre mode. The chrome browser is at 100% (not zoomed in further). I've tried clearing cache and cookies and nothing fixed it. Any suggestions? This is on the laptop by the way.

This was always the way to do it. Now (on a laptop) KZbin shows a partial screen and NO screen size controls showing below the window. So you get a 70% screen. It's something KZbin has changed in online viewing....

After the 16.3.1 update my KZbin videos had to be manually full screened. I looked in settings and under “Homescreen and Multitasking” found “Stage Manager” at the bottom. I un-clicked Recent Apps and also Docks. My KZbin videos then showed up in full screen…so far anyway.

Not what were looking for! Youve missed the point completely! We dont need to be shown the expander box,buy hkw to reset portrait mode to half the screen. You can pinch and zoom to enlarge the picture in picture feature for KZbin in portrait mode.
