You have always been one of my favorite creators, Kim. Why? Because you don't focus on gear, cameras, lenses, or Lightroom tutorials or how to get sharp images. Those are the videos that get views unfortunately. The art of photography niche struggles to get pushed in the algorithm and often is a poor use of time because of that, but the art of photography will always be better than tutorials. I feel how you feel often with pressure. Take time for yourself. Most of us aren't going anywhere. There's a life to live off social media. Wishing you blessings and good health .

Beautiful message Kim! Being true to ourselves and our callings is such a necessary thing for both our mental and physical well-being, as well as our emotional and spiritual fulfilment. I've been mulling over my direction of late too, and will be trying out some new ways (for me) of creating videos. Like you, i want to spend less time on my computer, but i really love making videos, so its about finding new ways to make it easier when it comes to the edit. All the best with your creative journey, whatever direction it takes you!

Your videos are always worth watching and so I will look forward to them whenever and whatever they are about. It takes a lot of self-reflection and courage to change course like this, but I can see how excited you are by your writing project and can see how it would appeal to you and I look forward to hearing more about it as it develops.

Hi Kim first time saying anything on your videos but for someone who has just taken up photography as a 60 year I truly understand this I have worked in factory's for nearly 40 year's paying bills and rent and the other things but all I want now is to see and listen what is around you and maybe take some photos even if they are not the best

Kim, goodonya! I'm so glad I ran across your videos years ago and did a couple of mentorships with you. You inspired me then and you inspire me now. I have gone way down the astrophotography rabbit hole (that you introduced me to). This video reminded me to go back to nature. And, I have now broadened my definition of nature to include space. And, I don't want to loose my connection to the nature that is close to me. Thanks for this. Finding the balance between technology and what is genuinely real is a challenge.

Thanks for letting us know about your shift in direction, Kim. Some folks just drop off and leave us wondering what really happened. Young people, like yourself, are fortunate when they have the knowledge and skills to explore different career paths until they find the ones they are most passionate about and that make 'work' and 'jobs' less wearisome, while still being able to support themselves in a healthy, responsible way. You still have a chance for 'do overs' unlike some of us who have long-since retired, although I try not to regret any choices I made that seemed right at the time, or feel guilty about changing my mind. Rather, I just learn from them and be glad that they got me to where I am today - enjoying family and nature and keeping an open mind, like yourself, on ways to enjoy life and be happy.

Hi Kim, So glad to see you're okay. I remember a wee while ago that you said you would be focussing on more on progressing with and developing your other activities and, as such, producing less KZbin videos; thus making best use of your time. I do miss your videos though as they are so personal and you are so in touch with your thoughts and the natural world around you; major feel good factor and a good breath of Scottish fresh air. I miss Scotland lots. Keep well, Kim.

No worries Kim... we are still here when you feel like posting a video now and then. I hear you on this. I was in this situation before with my older YT channel... and I am almost there with another channel now. For the past two years I spent more time in the house filming and working on the computer... and it feels like wonder when I have time to simply enjoy a coffee out in my backyard. So no matter what you chose to do... do it as long as it makes you happy and free. Life is too short anyway not to live every single day the way you want to. Hugs.

Follow your passions for sure... that's where you will do your best work and get the most satisfaction. Of course, I miss your videos but yet I completely understand your need to cut back on them. I work on a computer on average 10 hours a day (the bane of being a self-employed CPA) and when I have the opportunity to be away from my office I seldom seek out a computer. I'm more interested in just being outside, taking a walk, playing with the dogs, horseback riding or if I'm lucky taking photos of the awesome things I find in nature. So I support you fully in your journey. Most of the time I watched your videos while I was at my office so for me it was an escape from doing accounting. Still, I will miss them! I'm sure many others will as well... it would be strange if we tuned in every week and then didn't miss them. But we'll be grateful for the ones you do make and we'll benefit too from the other venues where you find your passions. Peace to you Kim! Till next time... Donna PS I just wish I was a wee bit closer to Scotland so I could participate in some of your retreats.

I have enjoyed your videos, but having recently retired, I completely empathize with your desire to get out and experience life. We photographers already spend enough time on our computers doing post-processing. Our life on earth is too short, so go out and explore and most of all take care of yourself.

Kim, as you go about your journey, I give you this blessing from Jude 1:20 But you, dear friends, carefully build yourselves up in this most holy faith by praying in the Holy Spirit, staying right at the center of God’s love, keeping your arms open and outstretched, ready for the mercy of our Master, Jesus Christ. This is the unending life, the real life! May you be blessed in your goings and comings. I’ll miss your photography and the encouragement you give.

KZbin is a funny medium/platform. For me its a free source of entertainment with billions of free episodes to amuse me. However KZbin is a different kettle of fish for Content Creators. It takes time and considerable effort to create even a five minute piece of content for people to watch for free. You do you. 😀 And if the odd little KZbin episode, created by you comes my way, then that will brighten my day. Stay safe and have fun. 😀

I think in particular constantly creating videos can turn that creative process from something you enjoy to something that becomes very frustrating when it interrupts your new path. I miss your regular videos but in the end you need to focus on what your heart is telling you. Otherwise you won’t be true to yourself and your creativity will suffer.
