YouTuber Crashed Airplane on Purpose; FAA Says

A KZbinr had his pilot’s license revoked for crashing a plane on purpose. Trevor Jacob has over 130,000 subscribers on his KZbin channel, where he posts his adventures. It’s a plane crash from December 2021 that has Jacob in hot water with the Federal Aviation Authority. After an investigation, the FAA has revoked Trevor Jacob’s private pilot certification, saying the crash was “egregious and intentional.”

I am not a pilot, but when I first saw this, my first reaction was like, wow, he is so calm. Then another KZbinr pilot put up a video of why he thought it was staged, including the pre-donned parachute pack, things I didn't pick up on... it made total sense. Look, I have no desire to skydive, so props to those with the fortitude to do so. But to fake an engine stall, cause an airplane to intentionally fall from the sky (no matter how remote) is irresponsible and reckless behavior. With all the evidence brought to light by other general aviation pilots regarding Jacob’s crashing his airplane it is 100% certain this was indeed a stunt. People who knew Jacob reported that the airplane needed some rather expensive repairs. Pictures shown that steel wing spares were shown signs of corrosion. It was also reported that there were other maintenance and repair issues with the airplane with some that Jacob tried doing himself but were improperly done. There is also the fact the the airplane engine had swapped for another different engine type, but painted to look like the original engine brand. The most damning evidence that this crash was staged was Jacob did a brief but incomplete engine restart. Before Jacob opened the airplane left side door, he double checked to test if the airplane’s elevator trim was set to airplane in neutral flight so when Jacob bailed out the airplane didn’t go into an uncontrolled flight and possibly entangle him. Jacob uncoupling his seat belt to snd looking out the opened airplane door to supposedly look for a landing spot, then faking being pulled out of the airplane by the slip stream. The fact Jacob wore a parachute which people who knew Jacob claimed he had never before word a parachute while flying his airplane in the past. But the biggest evidence that Jacob’s airplane crash was staged is the three video cameras mounted on the airplane. Jacob doing a video of his free fall. But the biggest evidence was that Jacob had two small fire extinguishers attached too the back of his calfs, under his pants. The speculation is he had planned on the airplane burst into flames upon crashing into the ground, and he could play the hero by extinguishing any fire. The biggest speculation about Jacob is that he purposely crashed the airplane to try and gain more KZbin notoriety and viewers along an increased new viewership to increase the money to be made from KZbin videos, and the airplane crash to get claim the issuance from it as the amount of repairs needed to airplane had devalued the airplane. The fact he didn’t report the crash to air traffic control, or the FAA, and several days later to hire a helicopter to retrieve the crashed airplane and fly it to a undisclosed location. The bottom line is Jacob staged this crash. All Jacob did was discredit general aviation pilots with his blatant stupidity.
