Find it very strange that a total stranger finds his way into your computer class in Brooklyn, NY and makes violent threats and the overall leader never does anything nor call the police to have the violent person removed immediately. The same over all leader allows people to come into class toward the program ending and disrupt important classroom lessons talking about their personal situations aloud. The same over all leader tells the teacher she should allow last minute class room interruptions to sit in while the class is working on difficult projects. Beware of irate people coming into places insisting on their way.

I commend Mrs Schmidt for having good instincts. “neighbors… described him as a menacing figure whose home was avoided by children Halloween… kicked out of a Whole Foods for stealing oranges… owed thousands in back taxes. Mike Schmidt, said he would often shares beers with another neighbor and point at Heuermann's home and remark: 'He probably has bodies in there,' according to the Times. Schmidt said that last Halloween, he finally resolved to break years of tradition by taking his children to trick-or-treat at Heuermann's home, where he lived with his wife, daughter and stepson. The home that the suspect lived in as a child. He said that hulking architect opened the door to the kids and gave them each a plastic pumpkin packed with candy. Schmidt added that when he told his wife where the sweets came from, she made him throw them out.” - From daily mail

I thought they were neighbors. The TV people would have gone along the street knocking on doors to bring everyone out at once. People go to answer the door, see the TV van and crew, see othet neighbours coming out and ask each other, what’s up? It works much, much better than standing waiting on the doorstep for someone to open it a little, shake their head and close it again. It makes a good visual scene. Why do people go to haunted houses? Or watch scary movies ? Or movies with gore? The same can be questioned. In my opinion going to the house is less creepy. In some ways it makes you feel less afraid because you are learning more. It may be a way to protect yourself and your family when you live so close. Towns in long island are very close (distance wise) to each other. There's definitely a lot of evil in the world. The irony is most people know who’s in their presence. We tend to be bias when it’s someone close to us. However the writing has always been on the wall. We need to start paying full attention and sitting in that difficult truth. The truth is some of our close family and friends are on the brink of acquiring sociopathic as well as psychopathic tendencies. It begins with unhealthy levels of seclusion and isolation. It’s okay to have personal time to rejuvenate yourself nevertheless there is indeed a toxic level of isolation that serial killers are known for. This is why it’s extremely important to stay in communication with your family and friends. Let them know that they’re valuable and are missed. Take a moment to examine the reason for anyone wanting to remain in isolation for long periods of time. There is a reason for this behavior. If one is genuinely acquiring all the great benefits of an healthy and valuable social life in whatever form (family, friends or associates) there would be no need to purposely separate themselves for unhealthy lengths of time. The old saying “An idle mind is a devil’s workshop” has more truth to it than you can imagine. Let’s start bridging these social barriers.

@@renegadebychoice I think you need to read and comprehend what was typed. I specifically said it is the “beginning” story of all those who were coined a serial killer. They isolate and seclude themselves away from the general population. This is a fact. Yes there is indeed a healthy form of personal time away to pour back into yourself. But these people have a history as a loner and take unto themselves spouses who are complicit with their behavior. This is why majority of their immediate families pretend to be oblivious. There is a toxic level of isolation and seclusion that shouldn’t be encouraged nor entertained. Examine the reason for anyone wanting to remain in isolation for long periods of time. There is a reason for this behavior. If one is truly getting great benefits of a healthy union in whatever form there would be no need to purposely separate themselves for unhealthy lengths of time. I edited the original comment so those who read it will not misunderstand what I’m saying.

@@innateseed that’s why I made the distinction between healthy and unhealthy levels of seclusion and isolation. There’s indeed a toxic level of isolation that we must bring attention to in all of our families friends and associates. We must pay attention and stop being so self absorbed. It may very well be a matter of life or death for someone extremely close to us.

@@BeegirlsHoneyHouse it’s not a generalization. It’s a fact. This is a common denominator in the lives of all serial killers. Though they have family and friends that they patronize occasionally yet most of their personal lives are secluded and isolated. Drugs and alcohol will make any human being struggling with social anxiety personable for a moment. It was Dahmer’s coping mechanism. It was Dean Corll’s coping mechanism and it was Ted Bundy’s coping mechanism. Outside of their lucid social life they were extremely distant. I’ve been studying behavioral science for a very long time and this assessment predates me. Our science has already confirmed this to be a fact. We are just not willing to accept what is certifiably true.

Express yourself more clearly as this long rant is not coherent. Seclusion does not create Psychopathy, you are born a psychopath. Being born this way also does not make you a sexual sadist, that comes from your nurture. Sociopaths are made not born. Narcissists are also made. I believe he was both a Psychopath and a Narcissist, and a sexual sadist who got off on other people's pain, both physical and emotional. All that talk of isolation - what isolation? He was married, had a wife and two kids, and an office and clients. He also visited sex workers when his wife was out of town. He was not isolated, he was surrounded by people. It had nothing to do with his social life either. This is not a young, nerdy kid who is socially awkward. This is a well known architect who made $0.5 million per year. Most psychopaths and narcissists are very charming people and gifted manipulators of others.
