Yes he can A-Train’s top confirmed running speed in season 1, juiced to the gills with Compound V, is just over Mach 1 (~830 mph), during his race with Shockwave. Same season, the Boys’ surveillance camera picks up Homelander flying in a search pattern (before he confronts Frenchie in the van), and the screen shows he is moving at around Mach 2 (~1522 mph). It’s possible Homelander can move even faster if he is flying for speed instead of reconnaissance.

Homelander was proving the point that they’re all supes, and to not be willing to step up to him made you literally trash in his eyes. The viewers were all wrong in that if Deep or A train would have stood up to him and said “No” and given some sort of advice that wasn’t lead by fear, Homelander would’ve listened. It’s the treatment of him by others that reinforces his psychosis and insanity.

The thing is Homelander is unpredictable. He’s instilled fear in them for years since s1 so how can he expect them to change how they see him especially when they know and the show has proven time and time again that he doesn’t like to be challenged. Even with him making an exception with Sage, we still see moments where he reverts back and forth in his old ways of being the lead and unchallenged.

I think in many ways Homelander is unable to psychologically develop as a person because he is so powerful and unquestioned. So, he actually craves discipline, but every time an authority figure comes into his life that person could be incinerated by him in literally an instant, and he always eventually pulls that trigger and throws a tantrum, like any child would. Except when he throws a tantrum, he literally takes over the world and is positively reinforced

I sort of disagree with this. Stan Edgar is a great example of someone who stands up to Homelander and says whatever is on his mind to his face, but Homelander doesn't respect him: he loathes him. Sage is a sort of replacement for Stan, except she is working WITH Homelander and not for the success of the company, however, Homelander is petty and has an ego about others who feel like they are better or above him in a way and I believe that at the end of the season, Homelander will kill Sage.

Butcher,Edgar,and even hughie are characters he had multiple chances to flat-out get rid of but didn’t, because they don’t fear him, he straight up mentions how he respects butcher which is why he wouldn’t get rid of him and how he was even terrified of Edgar because Edgar was treating him like a child, Homelander even had the perfect chance to just laser Hughie in front of starlight yet he backed off and even smiled once hughie stood up for himself and said he wasn’t afraid of him Homelander respects those who aren’t afraid of him or aren’t afraid of death. Which is why he doesn’t kill them even when he 100% has the chance, and the only time he does try killing these characters is when he feels like they’re stepping out of bounds too much(butcher using solider boy to fight homelander, Hughie listening in on his plans in the recent ep).
